I just get teary eyed everytime i watch this.
Her husband is not bad guy,he just took her respect for granted over the journey of marriage. He was trying to help and translate her while others were giving speech.
The daughter acted so well that i never hated someone like that.

That French man fall in love and confessed in French and Sashi comforted him in hindi though they don't understand the language but they still understand the feelings
To be tru if there was another girl instead of sashi from another country she might have left her husband and choose French man over him bcoz he loves and respects her but here sashi didn't even put herself in a situation where she had to choose between them she was clear about everything I am so proud of her and I learnt something from here which was about relations .

State how Shashi is the bigger person in English Vinglish and how her husband should not feel jealous. State 3 points
In "English Vinglish," Shashi is the bigger person and her husband need not feel jealous because:
    1. Shashi's journey of self-improvement: Throughout the film, Shashi embarks on a personal journey to learn English and gain self-confidence. Despite facing challenges and ridicule, she remains determined and resilient, showing maturity and growth.
    2. Empathy and understanding: Shashi's actions demonstrate her compassionate nature. Instead of retaliating against her husband's insensitivity, she chooses to understand his insecurities and seeks to bridge the emotional gap between them.
    3. Celebrating each other's strengths: Shashi's transformation doesn't diminish her husband's importance; instead, it reinforces the idea that they can support and celebrate each other's individual growth and accomplishments, fostering a healthier relationship.

True .... But realisation & working towards that realisation in real life, both are different. Though society is changing, so are the thoughts. However one thing which remains same in 99% cases is, that wife should be asking for everything from husband before taking any action and many more such stuff!
It will still take ages to make both feel equal.

When I was young I really like this movie but now I understand it's gives a wrong message.
Why will success come from knowing a language. Unfortunately it's India's Colonised mentality at play.
Correct ending - She gets acknowledgement for her other skills like cooking . And speech is given in Hindi. Then her husband feels ashamed that he has been overlooking her talent and insulting her just because of a language.

The problem is, her husband acknowledges her cooking prowess, but cannot see the fact she is capable of more. Case in point,he says,"Sashi was born to make laddoos" . Sashi learning English is not her becoming a victim of a colonial mindset, but ,just a way to show her family that there is more to her personality than just cooking. She is capable of so much more. And the movie does prove it to us that the family must feel ashamed of mocking Sashi just due to a language barrier

Thats not the point of the movie. The aim is that she is capable of doing things everyone else can and putting down ur own family member is wrong. In the end of the movie, she asks for a Hindi newspaper instead of English
      U got it all wrong

Har cheez apne is black and white lens se math dekho. The message if the movie is her realizing her potential. Whilst what you are saying is absolutely true colonial mentality is not the problem this movie is tackling.
