Questions about using the throat pump;
Q: If done properly, ie. fish held out of the water for 5 to 10 seconds max., pump in the throat or upper stomach not deeper, fish immediately back in the water and revived if required, what mortality rate would you expect?
Q: Is there less stress if the pump is used on larger fish?
And if so, what is the minimum size of fish you'd recommend sampling with a throat pump?
In the past I've not used my throat pump much at all, due to concerns about damaging fish.
