Brother, what year is the car, what axle gear ratios you got or are they stock, what engine.... i really want to buy one but from what i heard, here in europe the ones up to 2008 had 4.10 gear ratios in the axles but i really want to go for a newer one... up to 2013... and i'm afraid that it will be hard for it to turn those 33' with the 2.5 diesel engine and even the axle gearing wouldn't be good either ...
Hi, Im from mexico and I have 1 generation newer one, is very hard and the tyres are 205/r16C, i think are very small looks awkward, 1 you think bigger tyre can make a difference on the bumpy ride? 2 I be thinkin on 265 75 16 with stock rims, I see a lot in that setup but this 285 75 16 looks beautiful, i dont know if a would need another rims or lift Thanks for the help!!
Hi mate, writing from another end of the world :D . Presently I'm driving 265/70 17 (32") - after watching your movue just wonder, what may be the difference in fuel consumption after changing to 285/70 17 (33" and wider that mine ones)? Have you any input on that case?
Hi prezedszkole. I got Mitsubishi pajero with same sort of wheels. Did you change the alloy wheel when you went to a bigger tyre or did you insert the 33 inch tyre to the same alloy wheel?
Hey mate, I'm in WA as well. Seen someone else ask you if you've had trouble with the cops for running 33s. Wanted to know how you go with insurance and whether they would cover you due to the size of your tyres?
Hey mate I spoke to my insurance company Shannon’s about the tyres and they didn’t see a problem with the bigger size I think it depends on who you go with
Hey mate did you ever end up having any problems with the tyres scrubbing or anything while off-roading with only a 2inch lift and taking the inside guards off ??
@@4x4CampingandAdventures yeah to easy mate I just put some 33's on mine just wanted to make sure I don't need to do anything else before I take it out for a thrash
Bought my 06 GLXR ML 2nd hand and it had bigboi tyres on it. The muddies scrubbed a bit (265/75r16) so I took them off and got ATs (265/70r16) instead. Great call but God damn they sit out about an inch. Any idea how I can tell what offset my rims are? I love the rims and they're not going anywhere but I might get some 75mm kut snakes to make the car road legal (haven't been pulled up yet thankfully).
The amount of lift is irrelevant, unless you change the bump stops or have a body lift, the tyre moves through the same range of motion on an IFS, so doesn't matter if you have a 4" lift or no lift at all, the clearance is the same.
Taresk Isloki well it’s not mate because you need to make sure the tyre won’t foul on the body. Like I said in the video it’s a bigger diameter hence making it fit will need a lift I have see people put a 33 with no lift and it scrubs every where so in my opinion you need a 2 inch lift
@@4x4CampingandAdventures you seem to be missing my point, if you have a 2" lift and you compress the suspension by 2" in articulation, unlike a live axle, the tyre is now exactly where it would be with no lift, so if it clears through the full suspension range with 2", it will clear with any lift height. As I said, the only thing that changes this is reducing the range of travel by modifying bump stops, or moving the body out of the way with a body lift. I've been clearing room for bigger tyres in IFS vehicles for 20yrs now (albeit Toyota's), so I'm very familiar with how it works.
Taresk Isloki hey mate I understand what you mean but the tyre will rub as I explain in the video if you fully compress it with 33s hence the guard needing to be massaged. If you didn’t have a 2 inch lift with a triton you would be rubbing every time you turn the wheel on the inner guard luckily with the triton unlike the Toyota hilux the UCA does not get in the way of the tyres if you go bigger with in reason.
hello mate, I just wanna ask if we really need to lift the suspension when we used 33" tires? coz I have a triton glxR '09 and planning to upgrade the stock tires on it..
Bruh I needed to take my front mud flaps off and trim the front bumper a bit to fit 16x8 with no off set rims on 265/70R16 tyres for my mk 2005 triton with stock suspension

Sorry mate I read your comment as -20 hence the poke comment I don't get any scrubbing on 0 offset either unless it's a mental angle but good to know you get the same with +20 💪
Thanks a lot for making these videos mate, I have an ml and I am working through doing a lot of the projects you have done

hi im looking at getting a 16x8 0 offset rim for my 2014 triton , did u have to use a centre ring for the centre bore difference or no?
Center ring mate

Hi mate, I'm driving a triton mn 2009. Planning to fit exact same size tyres and rim like yours. Will a 2inch lift helps?
Yeah 2 inch lift will definitely help you out mate
was wondering if you had any issues with police regarding that large tire size in vic

Nathan Locke if they are sitting out a inch from factory guards it would be Positive 10 probably mine are 0 and just nipped the factory guards.
was this on stock suspenstion or is it lifted? if so how much
2 inch lift
