- BUILT TO CRUISE EPISODE #7 Hear Radar's story of how he built and enjoyed his Isuzu Spacecab Minitruck, only to sell it in 2003.
The truck once graced the cover of Minitruckin' Magazine as well as numerous other automotive custom media. In 2018, he was able to buy back his original creation after 15 years of it being away.
His story weaves through his life of custom vehicles and his passion around minitrucks. He runs one of the largest truck shows in the country, Lone Star Throwdown (also known as LST). Also check out his truck related clothing company, Garage Gear. Links below.

Who else sold their custom ride and has either bought it back or is in the process of looking for it?
Man, I'd love to get my bagged Ranger Splash back and do it up right. Pretty sure it was totaled a few years after I sold it. Kinda sad. :(
I absolutely love these videos. Being 17 and hearing all these stories from back in the early days of minitruckin’ is fascinating to me. I have a 94 s10 that Ive already decided is gonna be more of the old school style. Keep these videos coming for sure.
That's what it's all about. Spreading the stories to the world to show how we all share a common passion and love for minitrucks and custom vehicles. Thank you for watching! We really appreciate it.
My dream truck. I've been wanting a spacecab for so long. There was a white and pink one on the cover of minitruckin in the mid 90s and it instantly became my favorite.
Spacecabs are becoming so rare these days. Beautiful styling and excellent platforms for custom minitrucks.
I have a 94 it's very nice will be laying down some paint on it soon and dropping it
Where do u find parts for yours there a few things I cant find I need a gas cable
Crazy i remembner this truck at "Endless Summer" back in 96', how the time and trends have gone by!!
The trends are coming full circle. A lot of guys are building old school inspired minis
Always loved this truck
We agree. Radar's spacecab is timeless.
Love your trucks and the bullet door to cool
Radar has always had cool rides. The Datsun is really rad to see in person. It's a time capsule.
" everything I've had was all premeditated " I know the feeling... I'm almost the exact opposite... I just wait for something to drop in my lap and then mentally build the shit out of it... one day i will own a huge shop and have way more cars ( probably in peices due to the project portion ) then i know what to do with. I have a good start with the 3 stockers I currently have lmfao.
I can relate with the "I want one of everything". At one point I had more non-running trucks than driveable ones. LOL
70s mini trucks are the best idcwus
Totally agree. I personally owned a 79 Datsun and loved that thing.
Nice shirt Radar! :)
Chris Stone repping Garage Gear in Episode 2 as well. 👍🏻
@@BuiltToCruise Hell yeah! love it.....
"I want one of everything" should be a t shirt asap. I'm digging these episodes allot . Keep them coming please!
That should definitely be a shirt. Radar was such a good sport and an absolute blast to talk with. A true OG minitrucker.
I wore the mini trucking issue out with that space cab in it, one of my favorite trucks of all time. Then they used it for a add and it was in most issues after that.
Radar's truck is a timeless build. It still looks amazing.
radars and rob septors zoo when it was grey with purple graphics made me want a zoo. ive had 2 of em and still daily my 92 reg cab
Great series keep them coming
Thanks! It has been a lot of fun hearing all the stories and being able to share them.
That's awesome, my first ride was a 71 super beetle as well. Then went right into the minitruck seen in 96. Been in it ever since.
My father had a custom bug back in the early 70s before getting into custom cars and trucks and passing that down to me.
Hey Rador. I was talking to him this past weekend at mini-Nats.
He is a great guy. Loves minitruckin and custom trucks.
yall can see 2 of my trucjks in Jason A ldens 1994 joe diffie where they start in the arcade the my orange one was gotten back off me and used in tim mcgraw truck yeah
your truck up on the rack behind you im wanting to say ive saw it in person Severed Ties right here
I love these videos would be great if you showed a bit more of the trucks they’re talking about. Or even just a longer shot of the pictures. Great videos keep up the good work!
Thank you! 👍🏻👊🏻
Bought me this car, bought me that car. I'm out!
Where do you find parts for it
Great story...great guy
We agree. One of the best people you could possibly meet.
I have a 94 spacecab I love it and will be putting it in the weeds
Always one of our favorite minitrucks. Isuzu Spacecabs look so smooth.
@@BuiltToCruise your so right .at first I thought it was so ugly .but it grew on me love the big cab they look so long when its low.ill be painting mine soon
@@johnnyarnett4904 there arent very many around anymore. Lots of toyotas, nissans, and S-10s, but Spacecab Isuzus seem rare in the car show scene.
I always wondered what happened to the "2 Sour/2 Excite U" S10 with the carson top???
Check out the Facebook group "minitruckin, where are they now?" There are thousands of old school minitruckers on there sharing whereabouts of the old magazine trucks.
@@BuiltToCruise Thanks for the heads up!I'll definitely check it out
@@LburgVAGuy tell them we sent you. Some really good people in there.
@@BuiltToCruise Will do
