@anthony I commented this on ur taeyang reaction but I dont think you've seen it...its a blessing to be a vip and an army so here's from a loooonng term vip(bigbang's fandom name) as you might already know bigbang are the kings of kpop I dont think any fandom will fight me on this one they are what we call the originals and if your into kpop there's no way you wont like them so just a little advice do it just like you got into bts you need to start from the old stuff and here's some of the best (haru haru,lies,tell me goodbye,tonight,love song,blue,fantastic baby,monster) those are some of the biggest hits and then you come to 2015 (bang bang bang,bae bae,if you,we like 2 party, zutter,lets not fall in love) these has mvs but basically the whole MADE album is a hit you dont wanna miss it,for some solo stuff there is Gdragon (heart breaker,who you,one of a kind,that xx ft jennie from blackpink,crooked,untitled) now taeyang( wedding dress,ringa linga, 1am) seungri (strong baby,gotta talk to you,lets talk about love) and the list goes on but I noticed how u like bts #armyforever and I figured you may wanna know the idol of your idol because bts always talked about bigbang and how they inspired them (suga and gdragon are so similar in a father and son way) and their most recent release is 'last dance'...love your reactions your doing a great job fighting ;)

The story is that the girl was dating GD but broke up with him because she was diagnosed with cancer and was dying, so she broke up with him and made up a plan to make him hate her by pretending to date T.O.P so that her passing would hurt him less. GD finds out because Taeyang tells him but is too late to say goodbye and he’s sorry before she dies. It’s quite sad.
To give you a quickish summary of the plot. GD and the girl were dating (GD gave her the ring). Girl found out she has cancer, broke up with GD and pretended to be dating T.O.P. Which is why you see her and T.O.P talking in the beginning of the MV. She did this so GD would hate her and be in less pain when she passes. Taeyang at the hospital decides he doesn't want GD to not know the truth, so tells him the girl is in hospital and that he needs to get there as soon as possible. T.O.P stops GD before he gets outside the girl's operating theatre room to tell him the truth. That he's sorry for lying to GD about them dating, that the girl really loves GD and returns the girl's ring. GD gets to the operation theatre but he's too late and the girl has already passed away. This video is over 10 years old, but I still remember crying so much watching this video for the first time as a 13/14 year old. 👑
history lesson: In the mid-2000s, kpop spread through UA-cam because of music videos with really good story lines. A lot of them had twists and tragic/sad endings. Haru haru is one of them. There is also Taeyang's Wedding Dress, Bigbang Lies, KISS - Because I'm a Girl, among others. Later, flashy music videos became more popular.

The song is older than the date on the UA-cam video because the video got moved to SM’s new channel. The original views and comments were lost unfortunately. They inspired many third generation idols (Xiumin, Jisoo, Yuta, Moonbin and so many more) to become idols. TVXQ was a lot of their childhoods.

It's funny how my favorite bigbang song is their debut song. It's just so good, and the more you listen to it the more catchy it gets. Also they started influencing the industry ever since the very beginning, because this type of themes/concepts weren't talked about in korea, let alone in kpop which was supposed to be bright and happy. Bigbang were one of the first groups to talk about something as dark and deep, and giving light to such issues and stuff.
This song is such a classic. I would put it next to god "Dear Mother" (god pronounced like G.O.D.) in the sense of emotional engagement and sudden attack of feels. I would recommend "Dear Mother" (god is the 1st generation k-pop boygroup, they are truly legends and amazingly talented), but I feel like Anthony would cry, bc of the topic of this song, so I will just say that it hits you hard. So instead I recommend the song of their reunion in 2014 "Saturday Night" - it is funny, entertaining and super dope music. Getting back to "Haru Haru" - the moment that shocked you was Daesung. I am not even BigBang's fan but this boy's (ekhem, man's) voice kills me every time (it's a shame YG decided to promote him as soloist more in Japan than Korea, bc songs like "Baby Don't Cry" make me soft).

Ok so... all five of them are friends. GD has the girl but when she founds out she has cancer she wants to leave GD cuz she doesn't want to hurt him (she knows she'll die). The girl and TOP are only pretending that they are dating to make GD angry. Again she thinks if GD's angry with her it won't hurt him that much when she dies. At the end TOP tells the truth but it's too late. The ring he give to GD uhm, GD gave it to her, they both have one. At the beginning of the mv she gave the ring to TOP.

I had watched this video when I didn't even know about Kpop and realised it when I became a fan of BIGBANG years later while digging through their videos.
I know someone in the comments already kinda summed up the story of the mv for you but I just want to go into more detail... So the story begins with GD and his girlfriend in a loving relationship. They exchange promise rings to symbolize their love. The girl found out she has cancer and goes to TOP, GD’s best friend and asks him to pretend to be her new love interest. This is to prevent GD from finding out she has cancer and attempting to ease his heartache when she dies (because she knew she was dying). She basically wanted him to forget about her/move on before it all went down. The scene where the girl and TOP are standing facing each other was staged by the girl and the other members. They made a plan to “accidentally” have GD see her giving the promise ring to TOP. They fight, and GD walks off alone. As days go by GD is still not over her so they plan another scenario to help him. (The car scene) GD was hanging out with the other members when they “accidentally” happened to drive past TOP’s car where he and the girl were. If you watch closely you can see they weren’t sitting very close together UNTIL they saw the other members’ car approaching. That’s when TOP put his arm around the girl to make it more realistic. GD sees this and gets angry, but it’s really no use so he just walks off alone again. This is when we see him have a full blown mental breakdown and finally see why the girl was distancing herself (her hair falling out and then it goes to the scene where she’s actually at the hospital). She’s getting ready for surgery which she knows is very risky and she will most likely die from. You can see during this scene Taeyang standing at the door of the room, clearly regretting not letting GD know. It then goes to the scene of him in the Elevator on the phone with GD. So basically Taeyang explains everything to GD and so GD rushes to the hospital to see the girl. Once he gets there he runs into TOP, who then gives GD back his promise ring from the girl and apologies for lying/keeping everything from him. Then we see GD breakdown crying again, overwhelmed with all the information. GD can now do nothing but wait seen as the girl has already gone in for the surgery. In the end, unfortunately, the girl passes away during the surgery and GD thinks about all the happy times they spent together.

so basically the girl had cancer and didn't want to break GD's heart bc of her being so sick, so she told T.O.P to pretend to be her new love, and so that's why she gave him the special ring that GD had originally given her....and GD couldn't believe his good friend would steal his girl. And when the girl was about to die, Taeyang told GD, and GD ran to her and T.O.P confessed that it was all a lie and that the girl still truly loves GD. And then the girl dies, too late for GD to apologize and say goodbye. fmlll i cryyyy

And when the girl was about to die, Taeyang told GD, and GD ran to her and T.O.P confessed that it was all a lie and that the girl still truly loves GD.
