Hello. sorry for my late reply - I am not super active here lately. Truth is, you need to learn the basics of illustrator about making and using grids. Then you can tweak and adjust these grids to help you 'guide' to perfect balance your logo outcome.
Hello, yes, grids are only for technical guidance. I use grids to finetune my designs. It shouldn’t start from a grid, unless you want to make something super technical or abstract. I sometimes start with a grid as well. So basically, there are more ways to look at this.
I usually create a logo in a random grid first. Once happy, I rebuild the design (if needed) in a more minimal and logical grid size. All to help minimize the design and simplify corners and details.
Tell me what I got wrong. You designed logo according to document grid not logo grid. In other videos they make logo grid and join shapes with shape builder tool. Here you made logo and then you draw logo grid around it. Isn't that reverse process? Great logos but I would like an answer from you or anyone that is familiar with logo designing. I mix up the approach on this actually. As it also depends on the logo you have envisioned to create. Some use the shape builder tool and some don’t (I don’t). It’s a matter of experiences and preference to make these grids. Sometimes I start a logo from a grid, and sometimes I create grids once a design is made. For technical guidance.
