How do you know the color of the fruit. Do you have to wait and see. Also how do you chose the fruit color if you want a specific one such as yellow or pink
The fruits grow on pads from last year. this year I didn't prune my prickly pears and they are filled with TOO MUCH fruit. so pruning them helps with bigger fruits.
@@mymediterraneanorchard thanks for replying. If I cut off the new growth will fruits come on the pads that are left? Min are very tall and need pruning
@@rwg727 if you want fruits next year you need to make sure some new growth from this year remains. and now can (still) be a good time for it since the plant will have time to grow new pads before winter.
@@mymediterraneanorchard thanks again. If I removed all the new growth now (SoCal) would the old pads below them that are led make fruit next season or would the old pads just make new pads next time?
Thank you for you reply 😄 My purpose is focus on entertainment on not so much about teaching, I prune my plants the way I like them to look or be and that is all really 😄

@@rwg727 the old pads will grow new ones which will be the ones to bear fruits next year. as long as you do it early enough in the season
Love the mask. 👺🌵
Do the different color flesh taste different
Yes, they taste different and also also have a different texture
@@mymediterraneanorchard is the different colored flesh visible in the fruit?
@@Angelderbat yes, eventually the skin gets the same color as the pulp
Weird! You could have slowed things down and explained the process.
Thank you for you reply 😄
