Focal point: This couple built what works for their family. Kids grow up fast. So does adults grow older. Planning ahead shouldn’t be too much of a problem; adjustments can always be made to build what works for the entire family. I’m so proud of both this couple. Thank you for sharing your remarkable homestead. God’s Love, Blessings and Covering To You All In Christ Jesus name amen 🙏🏻

Highly recommend stowing everything you have in the belly compartments in air-tight containers to prevent road dust, mildew, mold, and bugs from getting into your things. Additionally, it will prevent your tools from rusting. Throwing in packets of DampRid will definitely help inside the containers.

Idk. I feel like the salon is taking up a ton of space for 1 client a week. I understand it was hard for her to let her business go, but it seems that space could be much better used for the kids or something. Everything is beautiful tho. I just feel like that space could have been put to better use for the entire family.

I loved this video so much when I saw it a month ago that I watched it again. Only this time, I'm appalled by the negativity of the more recent comments. Condemning Joanie for her "selfish" attitude or bemoaning the bed/bathtub set up?!?!? WOW!!! How many mom's do you know who cook from scratch (3 meals/day) or grinds her own flour? She's incredible!!! Joanie gave up a business that she loved but 'negotiated' the salon which Adam lovingly provided. This is an incredible couple who love their children enough to provide an exceptional, adventuresome life for their little ones. Will it be forever that they live this lifestyle? Perhaps not; but for now it is working brilliantly for them and who are we/you to cast aspersions on their choices let alone act like they're not providing properly for their children. Enough!!!

I myself actually want to downsize and live this way aswell for the sake of seeing the world and nothing else. Not for being homeless nor because it's a trend. I just love to travel and believe that this is the most efficient and economical way of doing so for the income I have. I'm not broke but I don't have loads of money to travel. So, this gives me the opportunity to live and travel on the income I do have.

Hopefully the children grow accustomed to this lifestyle their parents created, and they won’t need more privacy than what they already have. This might just be a thing for now, and they go back to a regular house later on. They might get tired of the cramped feeling as the kids grow older.

I don't get why everyone is so concerned about the kids, it looks like most of you look at this with your adult mind instead of putting yourself in the shoes of a child. Children don't care about having a queen size bed or a big room.
Most children that are properly taken of by their parents (= not a child ignored by their parents who stay indoors all day on a tablet or computer) enjoy being outside more than being inside. I'm the most homebuddy person ever, I spend my days in my bed doing nothing at all, but when I was a child I was ALWAYS playing in the garden, unless it was too rainy and in that case I baked cakes with my mother or played board games.
I promise you that these children are not any different. They have a huge playground to play outside, and it changes every day! They're never going to get bored playing outside, they're probably bored when they are inside. And they have some games in the bus and their own space + a living room where they can play. That's more than enough for them. By the time they get older to need privacy they may not be on the road anymore, or their parents will find another solution

41:42 I know what you mean 'bout still feeling your hand vibrate, sister! I too am a cosmetologist, since 1980, graduating from high school vo-tech cosmetlogy class with very little training in clipper cutting hair JUST WHEN THE TREND WAS HOT. Not having any money for advanced training, I took a job in a Barbershop to learn. It was also licensed for cosmetology because the young daughter had chosen Beauty School instead, working 1-2 days a week, her interest not being men's grooming, instead, total immersion in college life.
The owner,in her late 70's, wanted to "get modern", She had hired a young Barber with couple years experience the old man was retiring and stayed long enough to give me OJT in barbering and clipper skills, he was a licensed barber-stylist, complete with straight razor shaving and the "new layering techniques". So then the hot new wild futuristic 80's modern styling was pretty much left to me as the other old Barber was a female and having her a baby at 55 yrs.
Giving a 3 or 4" tall flat top it goes from a 1" Crown to a spillover Bang in the front ala Flock of Seagulls or fully standing is not an easy thing, but I learned old ways and new products workt hand in hand. I became the hottest Barber in town with the reputation of giving the "flattest top in town". I was vibrating out a flat top/spillover bang style every 15 minutes for10 yrs with those industrial old tyme barrel Oster electric barber shears (looked like some sheep shears). Not the nice little neck trim clippers or the larger type for in home barbering with the lenth guides that clamp on, no, this was old tyme, if you wanted a different size, you flipped the head up and put another size of $30 set of blades onto it. I did 3 or 4 clients and our average and that was an 8 hour day or 9 or 10 or... until we stopped accepting clients at regular closing hour of the shop and I finished the last that came in at 7 at 10pm. I think my hands would still vibrate for 10 years after I stopped doing that and I heard the constant phone ringing! When wide awake. I would also dream it and I would wake up and realize that I was no longer a Barber, and the phone was NOT ringing.
When I had moved from the Barbershop to run my own booth in a larger salon, I still carried most of my clipper clients with me -the truth is, they found me...they were all connected by word of mouth and style advertisement, and i had begun clipper cuts on women for the 90's...so, I was still buzzin' in the 90's and could not get away from it until I retired in the 2K's! And if you're wondering how this all relates to your sander ... I used to run an orbital sander at my fiance's garage sometimes, on Sundays to help him catch up. I much prefer the random orbital action of a 2 handed sander/buffer than that one-handed old barrel-shaped barber clipper!

I know people that make more money from their part time jobs than some people make in two weeks. Aside the fact, how can you put a price on happiness, travel, and financial freedom? Do you not see their home is fully paid for? Do you pay rent or do you down rite own your home? Do you have the time to make home made bread or do you even cook? Home schooled children don't learn half the nasty things regular children learn in school nor do they suffer bullying. Have you even noticed how many kids commit suicide for being bullied or even drop out of school due to getting bullied. I'm guessing you live in a huge glass mansion that's fully paid for and have the bank leaning sideways from all the money you've saved.

How can the mom justify the Sq ft she takes from her kids when she only services someone maybe once a week? Thats a Hobby not a job. NOT even a shower, her kids don't even have a toy box. Then her huge bed- TAKES UP ANOTHER 7 FEET. Her kids clothes in a tiny bench, Meanwhile she has wrap around cabinets for all hers. I hope she watched this video and seen how she comes off. This dad needs to start putting his foot down. These poor kids, I wish them all the luck. She needs MORE WE & LESS ME.

My only issue with doing such an extensive build is mechanical problems with an old bus. They didn’t go into much except for tire wear, and his solution to turn the wheel around doesn’t really solve the core problem causing that. I suppose they can just park it in a trailer park if it gets too costly to maintain for travel.

So I have a genuine question, for anyone who does road life. Do you do odd jobs or... like permanent jobs? I know living like this isn’t as costly, but how do you keep income?

Courtney Burian I do wellness coaching for a holistic health company, I also manage and do branding for an Instagram account, and I have my botanical skincare and make up line that I ship to every state.

Thank you. That’s really cool. I’m currently in college for marketing and haven’t decided what I want to do “in the real world”, but I’ve considered tiny living before. I just didn’t know how people make ends meet

My husband is a utility foreman and has to travel constantly so we are looking into this as an option. I would continue to be a stay at home/homeschool mom tho. We have one 6 year old and a baby due next year. Sure would be being away from each other 3 weeks of every month 🤷‍♀️
