Thank you.... I had started trying to produce some carpet tiling in Revit.... fell down the rabbit hole and ended up in this video and your site. All the different tiles kept changing into the same tile finish. Assets/Materials now understood :-)
I have been trying to learn about material assets for a while, I didn't find a good resource. Your video explained it all very clear especially when paired with the previous videos about materials. 👌
Thanks for explaining. I’ve been a revit user for more than a decade and didn’t know this. I’m new to enscape. This “asset” term has nothing to do with enscape, right? In other words, enscape doesn’t have an asset material library, correct?
Correct, enscape does not have an asset material library, although enscape will take everything from the appearance tab of the material (or the material asset) to display where that material is used in the Revit project.
In version 2023, there is one new option to duplicate material with asset together, It would be great to share new video for this feature has just been added.
Good tutorial but why the original stone still marked “1” when you liberated the inverted stone to be “0” by duplicating the asset.. would really appreciate if you could further explain this weird situation. Thanks a lot sir.
Assuming the material asset was duplicated, this number would be 0. The only way it would be or remain 1 is if the asset is used on multiple materials.
Cannot believe I'm just learning this now. Thanks for this!
Happy to help!
This helped a lot! I did not even know there was a differnence until a Redditor pointed it out for me!
Hey, very nice! Glad to help!
thanks men for your tutorial

You are soooo right, and I love it. Except I dont use 2023 that much so I tend to forget. Great note for an older video!

I tried again only when you push ok finish the commend then the original material turned 0
Ahh I see.
