Sped, I have really enjoyed the three solo lessons. I admire your attention to detail and your patience with teaching. I know you hear this over and over but you are most likely the best teacher I have seen and heard!! All my thanks to you!!!
Simply wonderful mate! So pleased to hear that. I’ve got more exciting content to come plus ventures back into the original world of music which I’m looking forward to as well.
Of the few memories of my youth I remember doing a Guns n Roses karaoke at age 9 or 10 rocking a homemade piece of painted wood which was supposed to be a guitar. They are the reason I started playing, I watched hours of MTV dreaming I would be able to play like Slash. Even though I did play guitar more or less all my life, I never really learned to play and stuck with the easy grunge / punk / rock licks. In recent years I decided to actually put the effort in and start to actually learn to play and you are now helping to realize the dream of that little kid as I am finally learning to properly play Guns n Roses. Thanks Sped, you’re a legend! 🤘🏻
What an incredible series of three amazing solos Absolutely love your tutorials Always so accurate and delivered with great tips and fun. Your tabs etc on your Patreon are absolutely invaluable Thanks so much for sharing 😎
What I find really great in your instructional videos is you give the ranges on which we must work. And me who is never taken aback but who are educational books, it facilitates my research and allows me to concentrate on my instrument and the technique. Thank you 1000 times for your videos.

@@SpedSpedding cheers Sped - will definitely enjoying learning the scales and solo. Working through these - have an even greater appreciation for Slash's phrasing. Love it!
I literally just finished learning this solo today and then I saw your video popping up on my feed. Sad, but I might go over it one more time just to be sure! So thank ya
@@SpedSpedding Completed the video right now. You got all of the confusion regarding that solo out of my head now. Thanks for the great explanation and playing! Keep it up! I still need help for the Paradise City outro solo which is a beast!! So I would be really happen to see that someday. Greetings from germany.
Your tone in this video is incredible! And your hat is incredible too! I'm so distracted by both that I forgot to actually learn anything. Starting the video again ...
A solo study of By The Sword would be great I don't know what scale to play on thank you for everything, the time you devote to us and the teaching aids that's great 🤘🏻
i quite liked Guns n roses at the time...but sort of "lost sight of them".....since.....but i'll learn this solo...very melodic and it carries nicely.... and yes...i've been busy doing other stuff lately...must get on with ye olde prs again....cheers sped.... 😀
I think it’s only natural that old bands go into a little bit of a rotation/hibernation. We need to do the musical rounds so to speak. Nothing wrong with parking a favourite and re-visiting in the future.
Sped I love your videos. Will absolutely be subscribing! Any chance of adding chapters for each major lick on here? It would make repeating the sections 500 times like I need- so much easier 😂😂😂
Yes!! This 3rd solo has always intimated me SO immensely….I can’t wait to dig in. It’s clearly the sexiest of the 3, and as Nigel Tufnel would say, “what’s wrong with being sexy?”😂. Cheers, Sped!!!!
Hi. just wanna say I appreciate that you are saying it's okay to improvise they probably had slash play a few solos and pieced together all the good bits HMMM but it's Slash so he might've just walked in recorded every solo for this song in 15 minutes and went out surfing so Slash rules
Yeah it's because I said so. Well done for noticing. Sometimes I record the examples on different days with different tones. The neck is a little softer on the ear for a whole lesson too.
@@SpedSpedding Agree. Ass got numb is fine but not ears, right? Btw, I save a question for the end of this trilogy. But please dont take this question as an insult. You're hilarious and kinda remind me of Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit Trilogy. Does anyone ever said that you look like him?
well that's definitive!!.. no other lessons needed, you tube should delete all other NR solo guides.. this is the ONLY one you need.. The only mystery is how the hell you can play this having drunk half a bottle of JD whilst running around on stage (very sweaty and in leather trousers) ... or on a very windy cliff outside a church.. all at the same time?
You’ve seen that episode of Friends right? I imagine he made a paste like Ross. 🤣 Stoked you liked this one Mike. Wanna see you ripping it on Discord. 🔥
@@SpedSpedding well i've printed all the tabs and they are in my practise folder!.. As for ripping it up on Discord i'm currently working on Solsbury Hill.. i've gone slightly acoustic lately ;)
I have watched several videos teaching people how to play . But what should come first and I mean before everything is to show people how to get an amazing tone from their gear . You could take a $5,000 Les Paul and plug it straight into a $4000 marshall and it won't sound anything like this. Sounds quite horrible actually when playing single notes. When people first starting out they hear the amazing sounds these guys are getting on UA-cam but yet their gear sounds horrible in comparison so that becomes the only thing they think about. So we spend hours , days trying to find a UA-cam videos of how to properly set your gear up to have that studio-quality sound but oftentimes we come short a finding a proper video that explains the details. I know this is a video of how to play and not how to set up reverb, delay and all of the other bells and whistles to achieve what most could only dream of outside of a studio. So some times people just quit learning how to play because they can't get the sound they desire. It wouldn't take a lot time at all for UA-camrs to break down the gear used so the audience can get that out of the way and focus on the second most important thing and that is how to play. When I first started out I was told to get a cheap guitar in a cheap learn how to play before you start investing and the more expensive things but in my opinion that is exactly the opposite of what we should be telling people. I started out with 150 Dollar pawn shop knockoff and a $50 piece of crap and was wondering why I can't get the sound everyone else is getting so I threw it away and never picked up another guitar for about 8 years. Now I have an amazing Les Paul, a marshall amp and positive grid software and now I can sound like anyone else on UA-cam it's hard for me to lay down my guitar. I enjoy it so much. So if there is anyone wanting to know how to achieve these incredible high-quality tones, message me and I will be glad to help you out. But don't give up because your gear sounds horrible. Like I said getting an incredibly awesome sound from your gear comes absolutely first before anything else.
Never in a million years did I think I could play this solo but thanks to your terrific lesson I think 100k years will be enough!

Yeah they are. A top 3 Slash moment I reckon. They’re all beautifully crafted and executed.

You're so welcome, love hearing from people!
The holy trinity of guitar solos
Church finally makes sense.
I like that you read from Slash's book, the quotes inspire me to keep learning and never stop rocking. Thanks Sped!
Glad you liked it, figured it'd make a change from the Zeppelin bible and people seem to like when I read from that.
Seeing you do the lesson makes the song seem so doable. It’s simpler than you think.
That’s exactly what these are all about. 🔥🙌🏻
I come here for every new video...and will continue to do so, because Sped said so!
🤣 Does “Because I Said So” have T-shirt potential?
Dude, so pumped to try this out! Been waiting for this lesson! Thanks for posting as always!!!

Oh oh! It's going to take me 2023 to get this one up to speed! Much appreciated - loving the scales section for context.

Hoping you get to the end and say the same thing again... #Inception 😂
only C#6, full bend to D6!
Thankyou, you should do the same with the 3 sweet child solo's

Indeed he's the best and hilarious at the same time LOL :) Keep it up buddy!
Any help for making those bends on the 19 / 20th fret especially sustain more? I cant get a clean bend on the 20th without picking it twice.
Any chance this is the Dorian mode of the C major scale? It seems to resolve on D…

Sounds new pickups notes berry clear
thank you
Pleasure
OMG the halo you are a saint
God sent me.
What's the trick or the way to remember all those notes?
Tons of repetition at slow speeds. Give it time to bake in. Like learning a new phone number or address. 🤝🏻
Amazing lesson for an absolute classic! Can we get a Song Remains the Same lesson in the near future??😬🤞 Cheers.
Glad you liked it Mike! None quite like Slash. ❤️
Man, i pretty much told myself i would never be able to nail the 3rd solo. But maaaaaybe, w your video, i might😅
