Love your new HH threads. You are styling now. I hope the industry keeps the goods coming. Don't get too cool, you might not want to talk to us anymore. Great vid. Cheers
I'm super glad you went to Apex and show us the mountain . I was thinking of moving to Penticton one day. Keep it up, amazing quy. BTW Love the way you clean your knife.🤣🤣🤣
skied Apex last year. they had 16 cms of fresh pow the day before we came, and we were able to find fresh snow in the glades to the right of the chair for 2 days. killer terrain in there. could not ski all day as my legs were burnt. totally under rated hill. some of the better terrain in central BC. little to no lift lines. not the easiest place to get to, but once you are there, you will have a great time.
17:27 Thought this guy was going to do a Laurel and Hardy on you with his skis!😂 That gun barrel run was almost rifled! It looks like you’ve found a gem of a place there. Another great day👊🇬🇧
Love seeing these different smaller resorts over Whistler. Would love to see it become some kind of a series (hopefully you could organise a deal with the various resorts for passes)
@@thainsworth67 depends what you like to ski. I've skied both many times. Sun Peaks is great for families and intermediates, only a few, short double black diamonds. If you like to ski blacks and doubles all day, the back side of Silver Star (Putnam - Powder Gulch) is absolutely amazing. 40+ blacks and doubles. I take my younger kids (13 and under) to Sun Peaks, my older boys (15 and 17) to Silver star and spend the entire day on the back side.
Yesterday was 10cm of fresh on 10cm from the day before. It was really good, and spectacular in a couple of secret stashes. Even the frontside was great! Season salvaged? Hope so.
Thanks Ben! Red provided me with one of the best days of all of last season. Have you seen that video. Eager to get back there. ua-cam.com/video/P5F_ymwfE5Y/v-deo.html
Nice one James, thanks for showing these mountains for us, I will try and incorporate them into next year's tour. I like the price, next year I would qualify for the "Masters" and at $66 I'm in. Looks to me like everywhere is missing the snow quantities we have become used to, I spent 6 days at Schweitzer last week in the rain and warm and their snow is definitely lacking. March is Sun Peaks then Revy and the Horse, hope that we all get some snow before then. Peace Out
Snow is hard to come by right now. Sun Peaks, Revy and Horse sounds like a sick March trip. I''ll be somewhere similar during that period so watch out for me!
This weekend back home was rough. Had to tour up ridiculously crusty snow for 10km and til about 1750m before it got good. Above there, specifically on northern aspects, its pretty nice. But man did i have to work for it
Dang, you’re tearing it up! Apex, like Mt. Baldy is another hidden gem! I’m digging your ski adventures, living vicariously until that time I might get off my ass and go skiing once again! Lol! On another note: Will you be restocking the Liquid Courage sauces anytime soon? I’d like to buy some. They look delicious! 🙂
This looks like a great resort. I'm starting to think, when we finally make it across the Atlantic, that we should be hitting resorts like this instead of Whistler/Blackcomb.
Whistler Blackcomb will always be king, there's really no denying that. But there's a lot of great options in the interior if you want something a little more laid back with great skiing.
If you've got the time I would do Revy, Kicking Horse, Panorama and Lake Louise over Whistler. Another option is Sun Peaks, Silver Star, Big White and Apex.
@riseandalpine 229km from oosyos, 600km from Vancouver. It's on US 395 1.5 hrs south of the Canadian border. Even on a weekend you won't wait more then 5 or 10 minutes in line.
What skis are you on now and where are your Enforcer 104 Free? Those were some tight chutes but they had great coverage.. 114s huh... Now that is an UPDATE.. are they Enforcer Free's with 2 sheets of metal?
James… I hear Coma Svensson’s “It’s A Drag, a Blast” fuckin’ awesome tune! Apparently we are using some similar tunes in our videos 😊⛷ Oh yeah… I am waiting for you to hit some “Liquid Corage” in the video.
If you are hitting Silver Star later - get to the Alder Point on a way to the Gulch zone… A bit of a pain, but you’ll thank me later. 🥳 We are hitting Fernie & Panorama in 3 days. Cheers!
Loving the suit so far. Keeping me dry and a great temp all round for resort and ski touring. Big upgrade from my Oakley pants which barely had any water resistance rating hahah
@@riseandalpine were you able to pull off a pro account, or had to break the piggy bank? Good to hear about the suit, mine is on its way on a wee detour..
IMO 114mm underfoot is overkill for conditions like this, 92mm underfoot would have been sufficient. I still haven't figured out why your inside ski doesn't point the same direction as your outside ski.
New ski so I wanted to get under it. Rode pretty damn nice on mixed snow conditions. Never noticed anything going on with my inside ski. Either it's a POV camera angle thing or I just got some wiggly tips.
apex is decent, you definitely need a locals guide to show you the good spots. Lots of groomers, the expert terrain is just too short for me. I prefer big whites longer runs with much more exploration through trees and whatnot
I would take Apex over Big White any day, BW is at the bottom of the list when comparing Sun Peaks, Silver Star, Apex and BW. Not much expert terrain on big white.
@@iccfundraising its all personal preference. There's definitely more expert terrain at big white than apex (in bounds), especially some of the big lines off cliff and falcon. i really can't see what is better about apex over big white in the style that i ride.
Love these “smaller” mountain vids and vibes more than the whistler vids! Keep em coming!
Glad you're digging them Landen! Such good vibes at these places.

It’s El Nino year, so March should see dumps big time. Late is great. Nice to see Apex. ❄️
March Madness always rocks!
Loving these lesser known mtn vids dude!
Glad you're digging them. Having so much fun visiting new spots, meeting people and trying new terrain

SO jealous you had a pow day there. Sounds like an amazing memory.
Apex and Baldy are so good for the size of hill they are. Hoping they can continue to stay open!
I hope the can keep those lifts turning too. Outsized fun for the size of the mountains for sure.
My local mountain well represented 👌👌👌
Thanks!
Wow thank you Michael, Really appreciate the support. I'll invest in a fresh jar of jelly!
I had a girlfriend back in the 90's who was originally from Summerland, and this was the first place I skied out West when we visited!
That's awesome. What a wicked place to start it off out west.
