I have the 408 in the blue people come up to me wen i have pulled up to go shopping and they can't believe it is a Peugeot and the colour really pulls the lookers in but all in all it is a fantastic car to drive and the safety is top notch.
Most people don't know the definition of an SUV. Utility vehicles in the past , such as the Land Rover, were able to perform a myriad of functions in addition to off roading - including running a generator or a water pump through an attachment to the crankshaft at the front. I have seen people in Asia running saw mills with the Land Rover. Thats what I would call a proper utility vehicle . Land Cruiser and Land Rover were true utility vehicles . Then Suzuki came with a Small 4x4 Utility Vehicle ( SUV) with a low -range gearbox aimed at outdoor Sport Loving people -- Young crowd who wanted to to tow and launch a jet-ski or a small boat ... or just drive along the beach with a few surfboards. Hence the Small Utility Vehicle came to know as a Sports Utility Vehicle. These vehicles are anything but SPORTY. High ground clearance and all season tires are not conducive any sporty performance - calling these vehicles SPORTS is a reflection that these vehicles are meant for Outdoor sports loving people - Not for racing drivers. Any vehicle without a Low range locking transmission is NOT an SUV. Most so called SUVs today are a cross between an SUV and a wagon - hence better referred to as CROSSOVERS. Please stop calling every hatchback with a raised ground clearance an SUV.
Great review and stunning design. Good to see that some cars are 'growing' taller again, just like the roof line in many 70s and 80s cars! Hopefully the days of low squat shaped saloon cars is coming to an end.
Trading in my 2015 5008 for one was going for the 3008 but then walking through the showroom stopped my mouth wide open in awe when I clasped eyes on this 408 beauty test dove the small wheel was so easy to get used to and the 1.2 ltr engine pulled along with no problem I was sold roll-on Tuesday when I get the keys anyone not sure go and have a look before you judge this car
STLA posted €18 bn in profits over 2022, thanks to a lot of things but predominantly to a stellar margin. So what? Well, reality showed that across its 14 brands, but in particular at Peugeot, RAM, DS, Citroen and Jeep, buyers are willing to pay a premium.
Great review but the C5X and new Insignia look very similar which just takes away a little magic. Could we see a Fiat and Lancia version as Stellantis have become the new BMC with badge engineering.
I know that "each eyes "paint" theirs own picture", but I find the design of C5X much more like a "shooting brake estate", which this one definitely isn't... and how does this look similar to the new Insignia, if it doesn't exist yet?
@@sevesellors2831 you have?! great.... because there were no spy shots of Insignia's mules or camouflaged prototypes yet. I know that it will be based on C5X/408 duo, but have no knowledge of its design...apart for a bunch of rather lame 408 based renders that is...

I think the C5-X looks better with the classier dash and interior. This just looks stretched and that rear bumper is just awful like an afterthought. The new 508 looks great do.
If they give you 6 points and a fine for using a mobile phone, they should give 10 points and 3 months inside for all these tablets and screens. What is going on? Get a Mazda 3 - safe to control according to Which?
You need to try it, I've had over 20 Peugeot's, of those, the 208, 308, 3 x 3008 have all had the smaller steering wheel, I have had no issues with it, once you get use to it you find looking through a steering wheel feels wrong.
fun fact.... despite the fact that our respected presenter is seating a bit too far from the steering wheel (his arms look completely stretched while he holds his arms on steering wheel in position of "15 min to 3 o'clock".... to sit correctly, his wrist should reach the top of the steering wheel😉), AND the fact, that steering wheel's position is obviously not lowered "into his lap" (because, there seems to be quite a lot of space between the bottom of the st.wheel and his legs), HE CAN STILL SEE THE DIALS!!!! ....how is this possible?!? cause, judging by 99.7% of (mainly "native English speaking") testers, this simply can not be!!! 😋
@@batchreviews sarcasm on the constant complaining about the steering wheel obstructing the visibility of iCockpit dials... 😉 and the fact, that it looks like your siting position on this video is just a bit too far from the steering wheel according to the rules of "correct siting position" (distances to pedals and st. wheel, and consequent angles that driver's body and limbs have, when sited correctly)... which would mean that (if the constant complaints were justified) it would be even harder for you to see the dials 🙂.... though, I might be deceived by the camera about that. o... and the engine range of C5X and 408 will end up identical.... because they ditched petrol 1.6l PureTech180 at C5X and replaced it with 1.6 Hybrid 180
The front.... I find it rather "Lexussy" (or perhaps american) and in profile the rear is a carbon copy of the Citroën C4. So given the price tag, I´d go for the C4.
Correct. It is the spiritual successor to the Rover SD1. I had one of those … a top of the range Vanden Plas. I have ordered a 408. I test drove one in GT trim and was amazed how good it was.

In Malaysia we get the 1.6 turbo 200 hp with 8 speed automatic gearbox.

If it had the 200 hp 4 cyl turbo engine from the 508 it wouldve been perfect enough for me

Really want one, but I have to say these expensive hybrids don’t make sense to me. A 2 litre diesel would be brilliant in the front of this beauty.
Agreed, but the 1.2 petrol is pretty good
