That Southern Utah kid that hit that 3 +1 looked so focused! He dapped his teammates up but was purely serious
That's just Tevian Jones, baby! He's been doing that all year.
@@lrmckenzie01 i remember when we played against Tevian, dude is a bucket
What an insane comeback! It’s great that even before the big dance, March Madness kicks in and spices things up a little bit.
March madness starts with the conference tournaments. Not when the big dance starts😂
Wow that was incredible! The final shot rolling around and going out was the cherry on top. Great comeback by Southern Utah.
So crazy! Down by 16 at the start of the video, then goes on to win. The WAC semifinal games were both pretty impressive. Sam Houston State and Grand Canyon were neck and neck most of the game. I'm upset SHSU lost, but it was an impressive game too.
They were down 20 at one point. Smh.

It’s almost hard to believe a team could collapse like that and lose a game like Utah Valley did.
I'm an SUU guy, and I watch your channel every day. I was hoping so bad that you would include this game. Love your content!
this is certainly a CRAZY ending
Utah Valley basically did everything wrong down the stretch: turnovers, missed free throws and fouling a 3 point shooter TWICE. Credit to Southern Utah cause they couldn’t miss but Utah Valley had rather poor execution at the end.
I love seeing my team on the good end of a video like this
UVU player at the end will never forget that layup...
Gotta make those free throws. Simple as that.
I always think that exact thing. Free throws are a fundamental at this point.
That’s what happens when you miss your free throws.
How'd he miss that last lay up too, Utah valley didn't even wanna win 😂
@@goofball1_134 I'd call that the iron punishing Utah Valley for their collective collapse.
wild comeback, but the amount of missed travel calls is crazy
And that blocking call at 0:18 was probably a charge
@@elijahfoster2 yea wtf? his feet were set for a solid second, clearly a charge
@Elihaj @Natsuki -- you have to see the "behind" angle; yes, his feet were set but he had to lean into Butler to attempt to draw the charge. The ref was standing right there and could see the UVU player had dipped his shoulder.
@@troylunt4315 wot? i thought the rule was, if feet are set, he can't be ran into like he was. he has to *purposely* draw the charging foul?
The way the game is played now, if the refs called travel every game would take 8 hours
cant imagine a worse way for a season to end
UVU will be playing in the NIT. They are regular conference champs. That means automatic NIT bid.
@@middlefinger1565 yeah but rather play in the NCAA tournament than the NIT
@@ryan979_ It is what it is. Nothing you can do about it.
I'm a current UVU student and I was hoping they could make it to their first NCAA tournament in school history. This was one of the best seasons they've ever had, luckily a bunch of players are returning next year though.
@@isaacfullmer7465 Just make some noise in the NIT. Hopefully your opponent is someone you match up well against and one you can compete against to the wire.
Man UVU is so good this year too, I feel bad for them. But man respect to SUU what a comeback.
You gotta finish your dinner right there!
UVU will be playing in the NIT. They solidified an automatic bid to that tournament.
that kid who missed the layup at the end will have the memory of that miss in his nightmares forever i feel bad for him
That was almost the best layup I’ve ever seen holy cow
march is gonna be great! what an ending and comeback!
Thrill victory and the agony of defeat
I've never heard or watch any of these teams play and don't know any of the players but when that dude missed the game-winning layup even I felt that that would scar someone for life
Wow inexcusable to miss the most routine thing in basketball- free throws… bet they’re coach was pissed
Crazy I had them on my ticket and went to sleep thinking they blew it and woke up happy asl
UVU will be shooting free throws in the offseason. A boatload of free throws.
Tragic loss caused by whiffed free throws, these mid-major conference games are hard to watch because whoever loses very likely has their season ended immediately, even if they have a good record.
If a team fails to close a game like the way Utah Valley did, then they're just not ready for the main NCAA tournament.
@@dogg-paws for these midmajors, the tournament simply starts at the conference level
also hard to watch when the squad is unable to inbounds the ball or foul a three point shot twice in the closing minutes
As I Utah valley fan they mental pain I felt was ridiculous but still a great game.
Southern Utah got super amazing win!
Guy got a fantastic look at the last second, missed a layup. Missed a bunch of free throws. Helluva game.
I don't understand, they had all the time in the world to foul b4 he even got into half-court line, why they waited until he was about to shoot to foul...I blame the Coach.. u have to tell your team if you planning to foul, make sure you foul right away, and don't wait until he's shooting the ball... this is one of the biggest chokes of all time
If UVU had been making their free throws, then that is the correct logic. However, because UVU had missed 5 or 6 straight, coach Madsen wanted to let enough time run off the clock before fouling. Then, even if SUU hits both FTs (88-87), and then SUU fouls immediately, it wouldn't have mattered if UVU made or missed their FTs as SUU would only have 1-2 seconds left ... not enough time to move the length of the court. If they foul SUU with 9 seconds left (score goes to 88-87) and then SUU fouls UVU immediately with 8 seconds left, UVU now has to make FTs. If they don't, SUU has plenty of time to get their shot or get fouled. Madsen didn't want that scenario to play out so he likely told his team to foul at 5 seconds. Unfortunately for UVU, at 7.5 seconds, SUU had executed their play and Darthard got blocked and could not catch up to Jones. Darthard tried to get the foul but it was too late -- Jones was already in shooting position and drained the 3. Madsen didn't foul immediately to avoid his team having to go back to the foul line and giving SUU enough time (7-9 seconds) for one last set play. Coach Simon set up an amazing play that required three SUU players to be in exact positions at exact times to exploit UVU, and it happened just as Simon had orchestrated. Had UVU made their FTs, everything changes.
That might be one of the best finishes so far this year!
Another team I wanted to win goes down. Campbell, Tennessee Tech, and now Utah Valley
Isn’t this now the second time Utah Valley has blown a big lead in a meaningful game? I remember they had that First Four Tournament game against Mississippi Valley State where I think they were the ones up 16 but blew that game, it was around 2013 or 2014 I believe:
UVU has NEVER been to the NCAA tournament. I looked it up via ESPN. They've been to the NIT, CIT and CBI.
@@middlefinger1565 I must’ve mistakened them for another Utah based team, my bad
Thank you for the live overs and SUU +18.5😂
gotta make the free throws
I love these smaller conference tournaments to get to the big dance
Crazy ending for both teams especially Utah Valley who barely missed a chance to go to the NCAA Tournament,, but congrats to them on making it to the NIT Semifinals. For Southern Utah, two crazy endings in less than two weeks, they lost to Eastern Kentucky in the CBI Tournament in overtimes. The WAC is in good hands with both these teams.
I never believe these are WILD or CRAZY endings unless they come out of a mid-lower tier conference.
That is a crazy collapse by uvu!
bro I can't wait for March Madness to start next week 🔥
I loved it when the crowd noise drowned out the sound of the screaming woman
What a comeback!!
Game of the year 🏆
Def top 5. But I would say game of the year is northern Arizona over eastern Washington at the buzzer.
Didn't know WAC had this many amazing Athletes
When you miss clutch free throws down the stretch and then you foul a guy shooting a three in the closing seconds, a loss will always be in your future!
I hope that girl who kept getting attacked in the crowd is ok.
Lol that girl screaming like crazy
Driving me insane I couldn't imagine being the person next to her omg.
Yea my ears 👂 😂
Wow unbelievable 🤯
3:14 This commentator calling the play in advance was just crazy. He even goes "oh no" as the ball goes in.
I think the "Oh, no" was based on the fact that the defender had fouled him while shooting, so he was going to shoot free throws either way (as in, "Oh no, you just bailed out a guy shooting an off-balance three"); the timing of it going in turned the shot going in changed it from an "Oh, no" moment to an "Oh, NO!" one, but it would have been a bad play for UVU either way.
@@insertclevername4123 Absolutely.
God Bless that kid who missed the layup he's the sickest person in the world right now
yeah, I felt bad for the kid - he's a fun player to watch, and super talented. They were a stand-up team, props to UVU. Sometimes they roll in, sometimes they don't.
That wasn't an easy lay-up though. He was going full speed toward the basket and had to make sure he got it off his fingers in time.
@@RobbieStacks90 I was gonna say the same thing. The ball just kind of bounced to him so he had to take in that "oh shit" moment when the ball was coming towards him, and worry about the clock as well as the defender. Tough break
Some real banshees in the crowd...
Improbable comeback! :O
I feel like time management was also a contributing factor to this L. Like the choke would have been inevitable, but at least UVU could have still won by a few points.
number 55 of Southern Utah , got ice in his veins 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶.
I feel so bad for that guy omg.
anyone know where to watch espn+ games internationally? great highlights here but i'd like to see the whole game
Illinois legend tevian jones
DOWN BY 23. TEV THE GOAT. SKO BIRDS!!!!
That... Most definitely classifies as crazy ...
It was close but that foul probably should have been non-shooting. The Southern Utah player's feet were still on the ground and was yet to go into his shooting motion when the foul occurred.
Utah Valley had this game wrapped and they blew it.
WOW!!!!
What a game 😊😊
This physically hurt me to watch the last shots
Great comeback! There should be a rule where a team with no more fouls to give, can not intentionally foul a player beyond the 3-pt line when under 45 seconds left in the game.
wow!
This was a CRAZY ending, but who was shrieking the whole time??
This could’ve been avoided if they didn’t purposely foul up 3 to avoid them from tying
Yeah, the they failed at that strategy, twice. First time was way too early, second time was just a terrible decision. You gotta coach them better on the strategy if you are going to implement it
Wow man
This is insane
Southern Utah needs to up the contrast on those jersey numbers.
55 is Cold Blooded.
That was WAC yo
I like seeing new teams in the tournament but Utah Valley decided not to show up in the final 10 minutes
I went to SUU. It's a nice college.
Thar was more of a meltdown than I had last weekend.
damn! wow!
Make your free throws, kids.
the arizona ucla ending was worthy of the CRAZY ending title
Definitely not lol. It would get spammed with clickbait comments. I wanted to post it tho.
The only reason this game was possible to win was HORRIBLE free throw shooting down the stretch by UV. They went 0-6 in one stretch!
Wow
lost a +2800 parlay on this game
Utah Valley had way more talent than Southern Utah. It’s sad because people are all like yeah! Another upset, another great story for the big dance but in all reality and the bigger picture it’s worse to not have the better seeds in each conference to make the dance because those teams would have a BETTER SHOT at beating the Power 5 teams. Not these little fluke teams like Southern Utah. Look at the BIG PICTURE
We split the regular season with UVU and hung with Kansas until the very end. UVU was better this season, but not by orders of magnitude.
It doesn't matter what teams are in this conference. It will always be the Wacky WAC
#4 woodbury on UV played some of the most horrible defense I’ve ever seen . Watch the tape
After watching this video and seeing the performance Utah Valley gave you could just tell they didn’t deserve to win this game. Great job by Southern Utah
Ooooooof feel bad for that kid at the end thats gotta be the worst feeling
Jones will be in the League...long with a sweet stroke, I don't know how the PAC-12 missed on this guy
He struggled with off the court issues and team policy violations at Illinois, I think that might have been a contributing factor.
@@jeffersonmathews2661 oh, so he's a basketball player...got it
Free throws, free throws, free throws...🤦🏾♂🤦🏾♂...and on top of that one of the stupidest fouls you can commit @ 3:22.
My Wolverines😢😕
Check out the southern Utah woman’s basketball game winning shot!!!! 🤯🤯
Love it when two community colleges get together for a game.
They're both universities
Way to go Refs!!!!
I mean wtf!!!...WAT A COMEBACK
I mean what the fuck!!!… what a comeback.
God damn I love this time of year
Free throw comments aren't really necessary. The kid already feels like shit, and you weren't a fan of either of these teams before you clicked the vid. Just enjoy the crazy finish
They pulled a Miami Fl
Last missed shot left his hand with 0.7 seconds left. Hindsight and all, but I think he had time for a more fundamentally sound shot instead of a helter-skelter layup attempt.
Ah yes a full 0.6 seconds of cushion to relax
@@elijahfoster2 okay, maybe not. He started shooting with 0.9 seconds😅.
SUU!!!!
Utah valley fouled way too early up 3
I think this is even worse considering UVU could have still won if Justin Harmon just made that final shot.
BUT HOW DO YOU BLOW A LAYUP TO WIN IT LIKE THAT i wouldnt show my face the next day at school
It was not an easy shot but you probably don’t play basketball
