I might be wrong, but I think the 110v outlet does not spin, so you can choose between horizontal and vertical plug placement. It spins so the kids who usually ride in the backseat don't accidentally stick something in the outlet and get electrocuted. You have to spin the safety cover in order to access the outlet openings. The 2024 manual states, "Open the cover to use it. Plug in the appliance slightly, turn it 90° clockwise, then push it all the way", and "When the AC power outlet is not in use, close the cover to prevent any small foreign objects from getting into the AC power outlet".
