Zippered Whale 2: The Big One!

Here I inflate and then rapidly deflate my Intex-like 3-meter-long whale that has a zipper installed on its tail. The zipper used is a 24-inch-long Tizip SuperSeal airtight and watertight zipper. The zipper allows the inflatable to be used as a storage bag as well as allowing for extremely rapid deflation. The zipper is plenty strong enough and holds air letting the whale still be used as a regular ride-on pool toy.

I've considered this for my supermassives, but it's a tradeoff with the higher pressures I like to use.

It does allow for very rapid deflation. The Tizip super seal zipper I am using is rated for about 10 PSI which is way more than any pool toy could ever handle.

Wow! An airtight zipper! Is it truly airtight, or does it leak a little? That would allow for quick inflation most of the way with a vacuum set to blower mode or similar.
Loved the camera inside. That was pretty cool. It would be cool to have the camera inside so we could see what it looks like while it's blown up really tight, and straining to take all of your weight.

Yes, the zipper is actually airtight.

Can you inflate it when you are inside of it?

It would not be safe to do so. The zipper pull is also only on the outside. Being inside an inflatable is rather unpleasant as the air pressure can make your ears hurt. Similar to changing altitude in an airplane.

I do see some thin parts on the tail above the airtight zipper. Dont think that the whale would support much weight on it. Specially that you removed the baffle, however nice fast deflation.

That's actually the lights you are seeing I used to make the area outside the zipper bright white. You can see them through the vinyl.
