      @@Dsean341 definitly try it. Kibbeling is good. You can also eat it with good fresh bread from the baker. You wont regret it.

    Everything looks so good especially the kibbling! The taste of fried fish with garlic sauce would be a perfect match! I actually tried herring (in sandwich form) when I went to Amsterdam, and it was pretty good. I'll have to try it without the bread next time!

    Great video! Can't say I'm a huge fan of herring but you have me willing to give stroopwafel a second chance!

    I want the fries! Heck, I want all 5. I'd say the herring is the only one that makes me a bit hesitant to try... but I'd give it a go. Great video! Keep 'em coming. :-)

      Herring is definitely the hardest one to get people to try...but this was one of the best I've had! I'm definitely a fanatic of the fries, too 😉

    Fun fact; the union with herring was done in the past when the had no coolings to keep the fish fresh. The taste of the union was to hide that the fish has gone a little bad...
    Just eat them without union and/or piccels so you get the real taste 😋

      I have! I've had herring many times, I just love it with both pickles and onions. But, of course, everyone should try what they are most comfortable with...and then go a little farther 😊

    Are you allowed to walk your bike through the market? I'm actually biketouring your country during the month of September.

    • @aWanderlustForLife
      @aWanderlustForLife  Рік тому

      I frequently see people walking their bikes. Just know that it may be really packed some days and you may get dirty looks if it's really crowded. If you are staying at a hotel or b&b, ask if they have indoor (secure) bike parking. You may not need to keep it with you all the time.

      Hi there. This doesn't sound familiar to me. So sorry! Maybe you can use Google Maps to pin point where it used to be and see if it is still there. Good luck! 😊

    I live in Vlaardingen, the original herring 'capital' (lots of people think its Scheveningen, but thats incorrect). We got the Herring and Beer festival each year. However I dont like herring, so its not for me

      @@aWanderlustForLife it is quite far away from Amsterdam, and with the anti Corona measures in place it didnt happen this year. But you can check out the photos how it usually looks haringenbierfeest.nl If you really must go for a festival in Vlaardingen I hope when Corona is over they open the medieval festival again that celebrates the battle of Vlaardingen in 1018. But then again, I bet there is enough to do in the area of Amsterdam as well 😊👍

      Thanks for the feedback. Prices change a lot here, so I don't put them in the video since I can't change it. This video is already many years old and I know the prices aren't the same. I can tell you that the stroopwafel is 2.50 Euro now since I just had one yesterday.
