I know I'm super late but I just wanted to thank you so so much for this tutorial I struggle with a lot of anxiety and depression and crochet has always been a positive outlet for me! I used to make melt bead art all the time and when I discover tapestry crochet can create the same things I wanted to try it but every tutorial I've found until your video today left me even more confused and convinced tapestry crochet was a skill I would never learn and thanks to you I feel confident enough to try it and I'm so excited to attempt something beautiful and comforting. I appreciate what you do so so much
I didn't realise until your comment that no music was one of the reasons I found it so relaxing. My brain isn't trying to ignore the music to get to the instruction.
This was such a wonderful tutorial! I started doing crochet around 1 year ago and I've been mostly making amigurumi. Now, I'd like to get started with tapestry crochet and I was looking for an introduction to it, as it seemed a bit daunting at first. After this video, everything is clear and I can't wait to get started. Thank you!
Thank you, this tutorial is so helpful. I was carrying the yarn incrrectly and that’s why my work didnt look correct. Im going to try this crochet project again! Thank you for taking the time to make this video! :)
This is so cute! I just finished making one out of scrap balls of yarn. Thank you for such clear and detailed instructions. I appreciate the time you took to make this video.
This was the ABSOLUTE BEST tutorial I seen! Very clear, concise and your calming voice makes it an easy listen. Excited to start my first piece of tapestry 🥰
This is fantastic! I've been wanting to do wording in crochet but was kind of intimidated by it.. This is so clear and well explained that I think I can do it afterall. Great teacher!
Absolutely adorable that your daughter wants this as a Dolly blanket 😘. I have always been put off by tapestry crochet but after a couple of attempts, it’s getting easier. Once the yarn is organised properly that’s half the battle lol.
This is the first time I’ve ever seen tapestry crochet and now my mind is swimming w all the possibilities!! Helen, could you pls do a video that shows us how to create our own tapestry crochet instructions? Is there a particular app or software you used to create yours?
I love this! I just recently got back into crocheting and have wanted to start doing tapestry. I've looked at other tutorials that use a floating or bobbin method, but it just felt so messy and confusing. This method kept everything so neat and organized, it's much more my style. Thank you!
Never done tapestry crochet before… but I’m desperate to make a certain patterned scarf that is only available in grid pattern form. Never thought I could do it but this video makes me feel like I can!! Will be trying thank you so much xx😊
Ok you madhe it easy for me to understand it I want to crochet a scarf for my boyfriend and wanted to put our initials it it That's for help soo muchhh appreciated your efforts for making this video
Thank you! I wanted to learn tapestry crochet and this was the perfect project. I made some errors, so I will be following along again to discover why my ends were on the opposite side to yours for instance and I also missed the end bit where you attach it to a dowel. Over all excellent tutorial. I have to say though this stitch drove me mad. My hook got caught in the fibers on nearly every stitch. Of course, I did get obsessed and stayed sitting for far too long and may have been a bit irritable. :)
oh that is so wonderful to hear! Making can definitely be a bit of a journey with lots of complications and frustrations along the way, but when you power through and figure it out at the end, it is just the best feeling! Happy making always 😍❤️
Thank you so much for this easy to follow video.Iv never done tapestry Crochet before my next project involves this and I was feeling a bit daunted by the whole thing but after watching your video I'm now feeling much more confident about doing it and at the same time a little excited too.....Thank You :-))))
Thankyou so much for teaching tapestry crochet in such details and patience. I definately found it educative. You are so pretty, kind, talented and a lovely voice. God bless you sweetheart.
1st time seeing one of your videos. This is awesome. I think I will attempt a few for coworkers and church friends. Thank you so much. I also subscribed so I can see what other jewels you have
That was great thank you so much for teaching me how crochet the tapestry stitch I know how to do it but it always comes out making a pillow or a hang bags but I wanted to learn to do it flat there’s so many beautiful designs that I want to try and the way you show me I feel I can try it and see how it will come out thank you again Love how you teach 🥰😬
Thank you for sharing your knowledge regarding tapestry crochet. I'm hoping that you can upload a video on how to make a fendi bag using tapestry crochet.Thank you very much
I absolutely LOVE the way you control the incoming yarn with your finger, I've never seen it done like that! 👍🏻 I struggle with that part, so I'll have to give your method a try. Wonderful tutorial! Btw, the "Try Something New" sticker was successful at drawing me in. Love all of it and look forward to following your page! Thank you!
Many thanks for this fabulous video and step by step instructions, you are awesome instructor. Please do a lot videos with different shapes. You made my day dear :) I will do it today
Hi Charlotte, thank you so much for this lovely comment - I'll let Helen know, who is the instructor on this great video!! Kindest wishes, Merion and the LoveCrafts team x
Good job! I had a pattern that didn’t describe the stitch. Had to figure out if I had intarsia, or tapestry. Then I had to search for a good video description. That was you! Thank you!!!
Hi im from asia i love watching crochet and i found myself happy to do it and ejoy doing it am i able to do crochet and learned from your pattern coz its not so easy to make my own design/pattern. Hope you notice me madame.
My questions are How do I print this? What will I tell the person printing that I want to print? Do I need to sketch before I can do a tapestry? I love how you explain, I have grabbed everything you taught, I just want to know how I can print my work on paper before I start my project
If you click on the link in the description box, you will be redirected to the Motif on the website from where you can download it and then print it out. You can always do free hand tapestry, but if you are getting started, we would recommend sketching it out first, to make it a little easier. Happy making ❤️🥰
Hi there ! I wanna ask to make sure; are you crocheting through the back loop of the stitch only throughout the entire project ? I can’t quite see if it’s through the whole stitch or not, so wanted to double check unless I’ve missed it being stated in the video ! Thank you for sharing this tutorial with us
It does appear that she is working into the back loop. I've seen other tapestry crochet tip videos that do back loop. You can also tell by the "ridge" that shows when you do FLO or BLO
Hey there and thanks so much for your feedback. We haven't got any tutorials for our wonderful left hander makers yet but are working on it for sure. Hopefully it won't be too long ❤️
Wonderful tutorial ❤. I do have a doubt. While crocheting on top of the trebles, do we insert hook only in the single loop and yarn over (like you are doing here), or both the loops, does it make any difference either way. I hope you understand what im trying to say😅
Hey there! Mmh we are not quite sure, but if you could possibly send us a picture via our Helpcentre on our website, we would be super happy to check it out for you 🧡
Thanks so much for this! Easy to follow and has given me confidence to put to use a book of graph paper I was given to design my own patterns! Simple ones at first tho lol. Thanks again :-)
I love your tutorial, very straightforward. Your explanations are quite simple. Please what is that sheet called? The one on which the letters are chartted, or us it just any sheet of paper?
hiii, thank you so very much for the clear tutorial, i just started learning crochet few weeks ago and im trying to make my own bucket bag with letters(name) on it. Right now im following a tutorial of making bucket bag and what i notice that it required me to do a double crochet all around it to make a bucket (without any pattern). I just wonder is it possible for me to form a letters on it with double crochet as in your video you are using half double crochet? Im so sorry if my question is a bit confusing 😓
