  • This video is a 10 minute clip, part of a 70 minute interview with Dr. Sapi from the University of New Haven. She is credited with being the first researcher to demonstrate that Lyme spirochetes can actually create their own complex biofilm community to survive indefinitely within their hosts; both human and animal.
Interview excerpts & videos with Bacterial Biofilm Experts (doctors & researchers):

Thank you very much for doing this video and to Dr. Sapi for sharing her important research. There is a huge community of people infected with Lyme Disease looking for answers that the medical and the scientific media is not bringing. This video is a sparkle of hope for many!

this is great to see another researcher scientifically confirming many of the things about lyme that the insurance backed AMA and doctors are refusing to treat. and we can see the research broadening because they are fallowing the facts. so this is all vary positive.

Garlic busts biofilms -- disrupts quorum sensing (communication between the various bugs as they organize and form a film) i think allicin is "the" chemical responsible for this.

Bromelain and papain, dissolve the fibrin/fibrinogen that protects biofilms. Garlic inhibits communication/formation of them, and kills pathogens. Turmeric (curcumin) inhibits quorum sensing as well, plus, is anti-inflammatory *and* crosses blood-brain barrier. These might be perfect partners to help the antibiotics get the bugs.

I am very interested in the potential of homeopathy as an adjunct to Lyme therapy. Homeopathy does not kill germs -- that is not what it is for. It does however show significant value in adjusting the body's own immune response -- upregulating where needed, and downregulating where not needed (such as allergy and autoimmunity which can consume our resources fighting the wrong enemies.) CAM section of NIH has done some excellent work showing precise immune system changes with homeopathy. No doubt there is also potential to help calm inflammation.

Thank you so much for your research. I would love to know how your research is going as I was diagnosed with this disease in January and am hopeful to see research of any kind. Great luck to you!

I haven't had this illness lyme disease, but can relate to the symptoms via a similar illness its great to see a new line of medicine is emerging to deal with these more difficult microbiological problems!

I like it, typical response, I've had this from most doctors I've tried to talk to about what I believe is the truth and also family and friends. People do seam to find it hard to accept what they don't understand! Kind of reminds me of Pythagoras when he said the world was round and my teachers as a small boy who said I couldn't of worked out Pythagoras Theorem by myself. Thanks for all your great innovations and ethical sharing of knowledge.

I read that chelation with EDTA can assist in breaking down biofilms.

Google "lyme biofilm" and it is the first one that comes up. You'll see the video microscopy of the B31 strain fluorescing...

Video needs captioning for those of us with lyme disease and screwed up hearing.

I am not a regular MD either, but non clinical doctoral degreed and that makes no difference in knowledge of research of a particular subject. Lyme biofilms is not new. The information has been out there. Lida Mattman discussed the L-forms being resistant to antibiotics as well.

what specific antibiotics? I was on antibiotics for 4 years with no success. I was ill for years and no one ever tested me for Lyme, in spite of my history of camping in the woods in various states.

Well, Dr. Baker can simply watch a video that shows a live Borrelia biofilm community, which also shows the different life forms of Bb. In this case, this is a monomicrobial, B31 Bb community that was created in the lab. In humans, it is more likely to have a mix of other species and cousins, e.g. yeasts, protozoa, the kitchen sink...

What is the life span of spirochetes

  • @trebelclef
    @trebelclef 11 років тому

Why can't researchers use forms other than B31 strain, which never infected anyone? Aren't there 100s of strains? I would assume virulence would be different for the various strains.

To the super ignorant Doctor Phillip J. Baker, Ph.D. Executive Director, P.O. Box 466,
Lyme, CT 06371; it is obvious that you not only ignore the development of the Borrelia and co-infections but for sure you are not treating properly your patients. Your ignorance is painful when you try to dismiss Dr Sapis investigation instead of trying to learn to do a professional respectable job. Dr Baker, study, research, read before talking or dismissing!

How can Dr Baker prove the Borrelia doesn't make biofilms? Would like to hear from him how he supports his comment? Ignorance is not bliss coming from a Physician who should study and research before trying to dismiss important studies that could save lives. He probably has economical interests and tries to neglect and ignore studies that could help treat properly or cure patients. I would like if you delete his comment full of ignorance and bad intention.
