I bought my first one a few years ago. Immediately started spending money to get it road worthy. Breaks and rotters, bearings. New axles. Clutch was shot along with hydraulic slave cylinders. New AC compressor. Failed haleffects pickup in the distributor. Five hundred bucks for just that. In total about five grande just to get it road worthy. All these things seam to give out at the same time making it a big price tag to keep it after the first 90,000 miles. Mines a base model,no turbo. So if the turbo went out along with whatever else was wrong with it they just gave up and parked it with a bad turbo. Maybe thinking the water pump was bad when the turbo or inter cooler was shot. Many had bad radiators in them. Remember turbo`s were fairly new at the time and many mechanics wouldn`t work on them. A lot of these cars were road hard and put away for dead. I just bought a second one just for the hard top and found a pretty nice little car. Maybe it was loved a little more than my first buy.

Part out the rest if you can, most capri people really need extra parts. Those tops also can get you a pretty penny. Good luck with the swap!

If you are still selling parts on this car, I would be very interested in some parts. Let me know. Too bad I didn't see this sooner, I would have liked that hard top....
