I don’t blame her for bawling. That ending is just masterful at tugging your heartstrings. I’m glad she got what the game’s message was going for. I still cry at the ending to this day. The entire game is a masterpiece and something everyone who plays videogames should experience at least once. You WILL fall in love with these characters and the ending WILL affect you in some way.
FFIX is my favorite of the FF series, and Vivi is also my favorite character. Seeing her going through the journey I traveled once is something that I can't explain (mostly because english isn't my first language) but that made me feel a lot of things. I don't understand japanese so, thank you for giving us these translated clips!
Ah yes, Final Fantasy IX One of the less talked series yet it’s universally loved Man, Vivi- no, Master Vivi is such an amazing character. And I really like how they were trying to cheer us up by showing the army son of Vivi in the end.
@@letterm6656 ff 8 actually got major spotlight (at least in my place) when it’s first released especially thanks to its iconic Gunblade and the cool-sounding MC name, Squall ff 9 on the other hand, barely talked about. The slow realization in her face is just soul crushing. I'm surprised she even understood what was going on. I had to watch an analysis video to figure out Vivi's fate.
What a lovely journey Korone had in FF IX, it was really sad in the ending but glad she enjoyed it. Also, those English edits are amazing, it must be hella work to do.
Zidane maybe the main character but Vivi has always been my most loved character along with Eiko Vivi is like the child you want to protect how is story and his reaction to what is happening to the story just moves me. One of my favorite is when he sees the death of Queen Brahne and Garnet grieving for her loss. Vivi said or felt that he should be angry at the queen but seeing her friend cry for the loss of his mother lost that anger.
Man, I have no idea who Vivi even is or how the FF Story goes, but this still makes me wanna cry I blame the "we all stop moving after a year" line for this
@@nekotorin What's more, he learns this be seeing nearly every single one of his friends reach a point of hopelessness but still find a reason to keep going, and being one of the few who himself never gives in to that hopelessness.
Vivi's story affected me so much growing up. I got myself a tattoo of Vivi earlier this year and in my house I have several pictures of him. Its strange that this little character and his arc hits us so hard and the effect is not lost more than 20 years after the game's release.
Vivi is actually one of the most well written across the final fantasy series along side : the entire final fantasy vi main cast , Yuna from final fantasy X , and Ramza from final fantasy tactics, this why final fantasy IX have one of big name as the best final fantasy game out there.
I played VII, VIII, IX, X, and XIII. I still think IX is the best at investing on side characters story (thanks to active time event features). Every playable characters in FFIX are main character for me personally. And yes, Vivi's story is very well-written
If you ever want to be sadder over this ending, I want you to imagine a scene that probably had to come after the reunion. Zidane and the gang sitting around a table, welcoming him back and having a drink, then Zidane looks over the crowd and has a question. "Where's Vivi?"
Poor korone! Hearing her tear up makes me all the more sad as well. Vivi's story is a genuinely emotional one. I hope Korone one day plays FFX. I hope to see her reactions to that as well.
I remember the first time I wrapped ff9, I cried too. It warmed my heart, and it felt like saying goodbye to good friends. You can tell she genuinely cares! ❤
Didn't expect she would get so invested in FF IX I still think it's the best FF, I love the friendship that Zidane and Vivi build up thru the game. Still sad that Vivi never got into a Dissidia game (not counting Opera Omnia).
Please do. I'm not a fan of FF games, I'm not a fan of RPG games, I hate turn based battles, and yet I loved both this game and final Fantasy 7 to the end. If any videogame at all deserves to be called art, is this one.
Wow this was a great compilation. From the beginning when Korone got so attached to Vivi I knew this was going to be painful, but I still ended up crying right along with her, even though I already knew it was coming. It hurts seeing Korone sad but I'm glad she got so much out of the story. Korone's ability to get completely emotionally invested in the story of the games she plays is what first hooked me to watching her streams. Doggo is just too precious.
Vivi may have had a short lifespan, but he understood what it means to live and lived his life to the fullest. Contrast to Kuja, who decided that life was utterly meaningless.
Now I have been reminded of how I literally teared up watching Korosan cry over Vivi-tan after reaching the end of her FFIX stream.... Uwahhhhh...... Thanks for the Food!
Vivi may have passed, but in learning how to reproduce he discovered immortality. A part of him will live on in his children, and their children, and so on. His life was short, but he had friends and was loved, is there anything more we can really ask of life?
While Vivi may not have found a way to extend his life, he did find a way to at least extend his legacy. Not only through being a great person who will never be forgotten, but by figuring out how to make children to carry on his legacy.
I really wanna see her play the kingdom hearts series now. Mostly because it's my favorite JRPG series. But also partly because I want to see her reaction to vivi showing up, and I mean really all the other FF characters as well.
her expression on happy that she see him and confuse after Vivi-tan said he wasn't Vivi and then go sad at goodbye message... Fuck... Also thank you for the English dialogs edit!!! ps. if the last part you put the fading Vivi hat would be much more emotional even tho it's already much sad now lol
Man, I love how much Korone _feels._ It's such a stark and beautiful contrast to an overwhelming majority of streamers (or, let's be honest, Americans in general) who either refuse to wear their emotions on their sleeves like this or are just incapable of connecting to a piece of fiction on this emotional of a level. We can't stand being vulnerable like this. We'll break any moment of sincerity with a sarcastic quip just to prevent ourselves from feeling. And we certainly wouldn't allow ourselves to cry on stream while confessing how much a fictional death impacted us. And frankly, I think that's really sad. I don't think anyone looks at how deeply Korone connects with stories and sees it as this glaring weakness. In fact, people find her reactions _so_ unapologetically heartfelt and earnest that they will rewatch those moments multiple times. Something about being this honest with ourselves, this in-tune with our emotions, and being touched by a piece of art this much resonates with us. I got choked up just watching this. Like, teary-eyed. Reminded me that it's been way too long since I had a good cry, honestly. Maybe I'll revisit this game myself.
Tips our hats to the most loveable dark mage, ViVi. Your existence was short, yet your memory will be eternal.
