Pharmacy: This is the entire field encompassing the discovery, development, production, dispensing, and proper use of medications. People working in pharmacy can have various roles, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, researchers, and pharmaceutical sales representatives.
B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy): This is a specific undergraduate degree program that provides a strong foundation in pharmaceutical sciences. It covers subjects like medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, and pharmacy practice.

You should have added the harsh truth of Pharmaceutical community in Bangladesh as well. The only conventional ways in Pharma industry in BD are industrial pharmacist & Sales. Community pharmacy & hospital pharmacy does not exist in Bangladesh. It is a pharmacist's role to prescribe drugs to the patient which is now being done by the doctor. The doctors' community in BD is so strong that they won't let the pharmacists do this.

Bachelor degree study is not that hard. Once you start working in a company, you will get hands on practical lessons which is more valuable than text book knowledge.

Yes Pharmacy is a good choice. You can select research as a pathway which can easily get you admission to Canadian universities. So try to focus on research based education in pharmacy.

In general most public universities have standard curriculum which covers everything about a course. The only problem is the industry connection and a scholarly educational experience. I would recommend studying in Islamic University. It everyone needs to study at private universities and pay the hefty fees.

That’s a difficult question! Both profession have good prospects. There are more than 100 pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh. So you’re free to choose from them. Personally I think Chemists have higher potential to go in the research field.

I was accepted in NSU’s pharmacy department. But rejected Nsu for BracU. The main reason was that BracU has a 4 years pharmacy course and NSU has 5 years course for pharmacy. And I want to complete my undergrad asap. Will I regret in future?

You can study any subject which you like and are passionate about. You shouldn’t chose subjects that are on demand rather what you prefer to study where you can do well. Think about your interests. As for skills, here is a list:

It’s good but not competitive enough with many of universities based in Dhaka. You have to proactively skill up yourself the stand in the competition with students who are getting degree from comparatively more reputable universities.

Look that’s a matter of your ultimate goal in career. If you want to be a doctor then you must study from a medical school whether public or private and become a doctor. A degree in pharmacy will make you a pharmacist and get corporate job in pharmaceutical companies. What’s your preference?

It’s a great course but very emerging in Bangladesh’s perspective. Jobs are only starting to create. It will be a challenge to compared to other industries

It really depends which country you’re talking about. In the most foreign countries, you will need some sort of qualification from that country to get good jobs but if you’re talking about general pharmacy related jobs like a pharmacist in a store or something like that, I don’t think you need extensive pharmacy background.

Public university degree are mostly as usual in most public universities in Bangladesh. The biggest problem is the curriculum in public. Universities are still very old compare to that. The private universities have improved to some extent.

These are two separate fields. The common advice I give to all students is that first you have to find your focus based on your previous education, future plans. Do not select a course for the reason that there are more jobs in this field. But chose based on what you will enjoy studying.
