Quickest way to re-roll is to go back to the Title screen, hit Options, and then choose Delete Account. This lets you start over from the beginning cutscene without having to redownload voices (or the whole game).
Still i am 7 hours in and i still got no 5 star character 😶 i mean my luck is shit And after i see all the stuff and infos, i think i go with Theo as the Starter 5 Star because the Dancer dont help me if i am not getting another character 😅, she is not strong only giving buffs to my 3, 3 stars character so i have only 4 characters to play with So regen character is better
on my first reroll I got Milliard and then got Gilderoy and Sofia on the summon. I was very excited to jump into this game with three 5* and now even more excited knowing they're good pulls. i hope we can all have a good time with this game!

Heya, thank u for the awesome guide! I'm new to Octopath and this really helped me out a lot! Took me 3 hours but got a Lynette 5* + Viola 5* account (Lynette from tutorial summon and Viola from 2nd single blue summon so rubies are safe!) Gonna save for good future banners now.
Bruh, I've been rerolling for days now still have not gotten them together, I did manage to roll Lynette 4* with starting Viola but at point I was already dead set to get them both 5*
Man looking at the discord with everyone flexing with their Viola and Lynette made me start over for that perfect reroll. Ended up with 5 star Lynette, Viola, Millard, and Fiore. This took me way to long but it was worth.
I started with Gilderoy in the game. Eventually I got Viola, Fiore, Sofia and other 5* characters. I don’t use Viola but I use other 5*s like Haanit, and Heathcote.
tried JP after seeing your closed beta video. freakish luck quickly assembled team of SSR centered around Viola and the newly released 'Princess', then blown through everything until hitting a wall hard at the 2nd three bosses. Will be fun this time to actually use strategy to win. Will throughly miss the 'princess' lovely voice though. said 'princess' because it's a spoiler, yea, i spoiled the story by rolling.
Great guides! I have one question. I rerolled for a while and never got Lynette+Viola combo. I settled with Lynette & Fiore 5* and Scarecrow 4*. So far, I have been happy. However I do struggle with some of the harder hitting elites. That's probably where I would benefit from Viola debuff :(. I am sitting on 600 rubies, should I continue pulling or save for future banner?
If you feel like you need a bit of a boost, rolling another 10-roll or so should be fine. If you're not enjoying the experience now, consider this an investment to make it to enjoying the experience later :)
did not reroll at all and went into this game without viola, Lynn or even theo + Fiore. Went through game with Millard scarecrow combo. I love Cyrus so much so I might reroll one if I don’t get it, and enjoy the adventure and memory once again.

Yes absolutely! This seems like a fantastic team to start out with. The game is super fun and I'm sure you're itching to get out of reroll hell, and get right into the action :)
Quick question man, would you do a video about summons & how to spend your rubies and at what point using it ( like we got either viola / lynette with the guaranteed, now what do we do)
I just got a 5* Lynette, but I'm really liking my 4* Iris (currently at the 3rd awakening) and level 65. should I switch to lynette? I also use iris for when I want to boost my ice attacks, because I have Sofia and Ramona, and Shelby who all get their ice attacks boosted from Sofia's ice defense down
Lynette would definitely be the better option in this case. Iris is a dancer primarily focused on Physical attacks, so her Ice attacks are quite weak. The boost that you could get on Sofia and the others by using Lynette's teamwide Magic Buff & MDef Debuff is much more than the damage Iris could provide.
I was trying to get Viola and Lynette but I ended up with 2 Viola and 2 Theo, is it better than I try and get both Viola and Lynette or should I stop there ?

Unfortunately, there are no 5* units in the gacha that are ONLY available as 5* unfortunately. All of them can be pulled as 4.5 or 5. Runelord Tressa is not in the game either, as every character is one of the 8 regular classes :< Best of luck on your rolls!

Now that all we get to start of with is 80 rubies and the 3 sacred seals I don’t know if it’s worth rerolling anymore. Would you say that a 5 star Lynette and Fiore party is good? It’s probably the best I’m getting but I’m so greedy for viola and Lynette lol
I got Theo, three 4 stars and three 3.4 stars but they're one light one wind and the rest are lighting. I had already linked the game to my Google account. Should/can I start over?
Planning on going in-depth in a future video but they do indeed stack! A couple examples of this in the video are Sophia having two 15% Ice Def Down debuffs that stack with each other, as well as Viola's Anti-Guard 20% and the 10% from Fire AoE!
I didn't play the game yet, but i saw many guides on google and Cyrus was everytime in the top tier... What do you think about this character since i don't see it in your video. Do you recommend to reroll to get him?
As the other reply mentioned, Cyrus is not in the game yet. He was introduced in JP in the 5th month. That being said, he is definitely a top tier unit and I would recommend saving for him!

I'm not sure on the exact date, but the startup bonuses did have an expiration date on when you could collect them. This could unfortunately mean that fresh accounts start with much less to work with now.
Hey, thanks for the video! can you confirm again if Sofia's 2t and 3t - 15% ice def down debuff effects actually stack to 30%? It seems like the turn count does stack but am unsure if the percentages stack as you say.
Honestly I'd say that any account with either 5* Viola or Lynette plus any other 5* is a really good account to just head into playing on. A lot of people have been aiming for both Viola and Lynette, but ultimately it's up to you.
I reroll now too, but i am like 5 hours in and only getting 3.4 stars ? And not a single 5 star with rerolling I think i will stay with only 4 characters for a while 😶
Currently there are only 3 guaranteed units which are the Nanna, Jose, and Conny you get at the start. Later on, there will be Arenas as part of the added content, where you can fight against Superboss-level enemies that require a lot of strategy, but if you manage to win, you can recruit the Superboss character to your team as a free 5*!

What's the deal with Sofia? Sometimes I see her at A or even S tier, and other people say she's pretty dependent on the opponent being weak to ice and therefore generally not that great of a character. Is her high tier list rating because of those ice comps you mentioned?
So I rerolled before watching thus video and didn't know anything about who I should reroll for. I was just like... I'll reroll till I get 2 five stars and I got viola and Lynette on my third reroll. Feeling pretty good right now lmao
While rerolling on two devices I managed to get Lynette on one and Viola on the other. Neither rolled a 5*s with the free gems. If you had to split this top tier hair which one would you go with?
Hard to say; I would have to see the 4* units available on either account. I'm tempted to say Lynette as it means you only need 1 more copy of her at any point throughout your career to get her to Special Lv10 eventually, compared to picking Viola where you would need 2.

Absolutely! It might be a bit more challenging compared to others' experience, but when I first started out in JP, I played the entire first few months of the game with only 1 5* - and it was MILLARD of all people - and did just fine! Go for it :)
Are there any new units added to the pool of any of the banners when you don't win a character banner? i.e H'aanit being added to the banner list after her banner? from what i understood is that collab will not but what about the rest of the upcoming 5*? will you be able to get them in a banner pulling for someone else or will you have to wait for their banner to rerun? The google spreadsheet has 3 distinctions Gacha Gacha (limited) Gacha (collab) Would it be correct to assume only gacha is added to the pool while the others are only available during their banner?
New characters (as long as they are perma and not Limited) typically get added to the Permanent pool about a month or two after their initial release. That being said, a new character WILL also appear in other new characters' banners as someone you could potentially pull. For example, H'aanit would be the first new 5*, followed by Heathcote, and H'aanit should also appear in the drop table for Heathcote's banner.
After a few rerolls I managed to get 5 Lynette as my starting character but didn't get any other 4.5 or 5 stars with my first 10 pulls and tickets. Should I keep rerolling or play the game?
Ow man what should I do? I got Viola and 4.5 Tressa in one account and a Lynette and her awakening in other (no more 5*). I don't know which to keep and play with! UPDATED: I rolled 10 on the Viola account and got a 5 * Tressa (got her awakening), and a 4.5 Guilderoy, and NONE on the Duplinette account, I'm going for the Viola one (11 4*+ characters vs 6*+, also wins in this).
It's pretty much just as simple as "roll what you can, and if you don't get what you want, reset". Depending on your device type it can be either Clear App Data (Android) or Uninstall/Reinstall (iPhone/iPad).
@@ShizukatzCotC oh ty for the answer it is just clearing the app data to reroll every single time can take a quiet long time and I don't believe it is necessary in a single player game unless if there is some ranking system or whatever

If you only have 1 of the two meta units (that is, Viola/Lynette), is that fine for players looking to play till the end game? I was able to get Viola, Tressa (personal favorite), and Fiore as 5 stars, but my concern is being bottlenecked later due to lack of meta characters and not knowing if I'll ever get Lynette.
Yes that's absolutely fine. Lynette might be a powerful unit for a long time, but she's not the only workable unit. There will be many possible compositions that you can eventually try using for endgame content, and finding those comps and experimenting with your own personal roster is a big part of the fun imo.

Depends where you want to end your reroll; some players will end the reroll process right after the snowstorm roll, which results in a reroll that takes just a couple minutes. Other players will end after using their rubies, which takes another few minutes.
currently in the EN server, the best "general" parties would in theory have only 5* units. However for content that requires being more specialized, you would rather take 4* units with correct weapon types than random 5*s.
The main story chapters that are available on-release should run you about 30-40 hours of gameplay. There will eventually be more story chapters added later on in updates.

Does the debuff and buff in this game stacking? Or they replace with the strongest effect?

I didn't play the game yet, but i saw many guides on google and Cyrus was everytime in the top tier... What do you think about this character since i don't see it in your video. Do you recommend to reroll to get him?
I think Cyrus isn’t in the game yet. We have to wait for his banner to show up just like the Tressa Banner.
As the other reply mentioned, Cyrus is not in the game yet. He was introduced in JP in the 5th month. That being said, he is definitely a top tier unit and I would recommend saving for him!
So I’m guessing you don’t get all the gems anymore? I don’t know why I didn’t pre-order I could’ve sworn I did it installed itself very weird maybe because I’m starting so late but I only start with 30 unless there’s something else I have to do in order to get the 300
I'm not sure on the exact date, but the startup bonuses did have an expiration date on when you could collect them. This could unfortunately mean that fresh accounts start with much less to work with now.
My Scarecrow was Missing a Star out of 5 but I'll take it, I also started with Lucetta and 5 Star Millard
Hey, thanks for the video! can you confirm again if Sofia's 2t and 3t - 15% ice def down debuff effects actually stack to 30%? It seems like the turn count does stack but am unsure if the percentages stack as you say.
The percentages do indeed stack.
Got Viola and Gilderoy. Am trying for Lynette and Viola. Is it okay to keep rerolling or no?
Honestly I'd say that any account with either 5* Viola or Lynette plus any other 5* is a really good account to just head into playing on. A lot of people have been aiming for both Viola and Lynette, but ultimately it's up to you.

Excellent guide! I do have a question, does the game give free units, like event units, etc?
Currently there are only 3 guaranteed units which are the Nanna, Jose, and Conny you get at the start. Later on, there will be Arenas as part of the added content, where you can fight against Superboss-level enemies that require a lot of strategy, but if you manage to win, you can recruit the Superboss character to your team as a free 5*!
Thank you for the reply! Oh so the game doesn't really provide free units regularly like in echoes of mana. I was planning on playing through the game with only the given characters but it looks like it would be too hard.
What's the deal with Sofia? Sometimes I see her at A or even S tier, and other people say she's pretty dependent on the opponent being weak to ice and therefore generally not that great of a character. Is her high tier list rating because of those ice comps you mentioned?
Should I use my awakening stone on Viola or save for something else?

So I rerolled before watching thus video and didn't know anything about who I should reroll for. I was just like... I'll reroll till I get 2 five stars and I got viola and Lynette on my third reroll. Feeling pretty good right now lmao
Been rolling for only 20 minutes and I have yet to see a Lynette, Viola, Theo or Fiore, all I am getting is Gilderoy and millard over and over lol
While rerolling on two devices I managed to get Lynette on one and Viola on the other. Neither rolled a 5*s with the free gems. If you had to split this top tier hair which one would you go with?
Hard to say; I would have to see the 4* units available on either account.
I'm tempted to say Lynette as it means you only need 1 more copy of her at any point throughout your career to get her to Special Lv10 eventually, compared to picking Viola where you would need 2.

How important is getting 2+ 5 star characters after rolling?
I think 2 is a pretty decent start. Any more then 3 is even better, obviously, but 2 is probably the minimum I'd start with.

Absolutely! It might be a bit more challenging compared to others' experience, but when I first started out in JP, I played the entire first few months of the game with only 1 5* - and it was MILLARD of all people - and did just fine! Go for it :)
Are there any new units added to the pool of any of the banners when you don't win a character banner? i.e H'aanit being added to the banner list after her banner? from what i understood is that collab will not but what about the rest of the upcoming 5*? will you be able to get them in a banner pulling for someone else or will you have to wait for their banner to rerun?

Would it be correct to assume only gacha is added to the pool while the others are only available during their banner?
New characters (as long as they are perma and not Limited) typically get added to the Permanent pool about a month or two after their initial release.
That being said, a new character WILL also appear in other new characters' banners as someone you could potentially pull. For example, H'aanit would be the first new 5*, followed by Heathcote, and H'aanit should also appear in the drop table for Heathcote's banner.
After a few rerolls I managed to get 5 Lynette as my starting character but didn't get any other 4.5 or 5 stars with my first 10 pulls and tickets. Should I keep rerolling or play the game?
I say keep rerolling if you plan to stay free to play. Try to get Lynette and Viola. At the minimum get 1 of them 5 star and the other 4.5

Ow man what should I do? I got Viola and 4.5 Tressa in one account and a Lynette and her awakening in other (no more 5*). I don't know which to keep and play with! UPDATED: I rolled 10 on the Viola account and got a 5 * Tressa (got her awakening), and a 4.5 Guilderoy, and NONE on the Duplinette account, I'm going for the Viola one (11 4*+ characters vs 6*+, also wins in this).

It's pretty much just as simple as "roll what you can, and if you don't get what you want, reset".
Depending on your device type it can be either Clear App Data (Android) or Uninstall/Reinstall (iPhone/iPad).
@@ShizukatzCotC oh ty for the answer it is just clearing the app data to reroll every single time can take a quiet long time and I don't believe it is necessary in a single player game unless if there is some ranking system or whatever

If you only have 1 of the two meta units (that is, Viola/Lynette), is that fine for players looking to play till the end game? I was able to get Viola, Tressa (personal favorite), and Fiore as 5 stars, but my concern is being bottlenecked later due to lack of meta characters and not knowing if I'll ever get Lynette.
Yes that's absolutely fine. Lynette might be a powerful unit for a long time, but she's not the only workable unit. There will be many possible compositions that you can eventually try using for endgame content, and finding those comps and experimenting with your own personal roster is a big part of the fun imo.

So how long roughly does it take to "reroll" meaning to get through whatever tutorial crap to get to the "free draws" that can get you a 5 star.
Depends where you want to end your reroll; some players will end the reroll process right after the snowstorm roll, which results in a reroll that takes just a couple minutes. Other players will end after using their rubies, which takes another few minutes.

currently in the EN server, the best "general" parties would in theory have only 5* units. However for content that requires being more specialized, you would rather take 4* units with correct weapon types than random 5*s.

The main story chapters that are available on-release should run you about 30-40 hours of gameplay.
There will eventually be more story chapters added later on in updates.
