Using the exacto blade to simulate rain is such an ingenious idea.
Your videos always inspire me to actually grab my pencils, inks and dip pens and draw
Wonderful. Then I have accomplished my mission :-)
*yet i never do it
@@alexandrejoao8439 if you don't, you should, at least for fun
You've recently come to be a big inspiration to me. I found you by chance doing an assignment for school here at MIAD which I saw you went to and I love your work. I also started playing Magic recently and by chance I had one of your cards laying around from back when I collected but didn't play. I love your videos and the way you paint so I've begun to get more into traditional painting, and I've been thinking about trying to alter my cards for fun. I can already feel myself improving a lot more.
Aw man, thanks for those kind words, Ben. Seriously, it always touches me greatly when someone says I inspired them to create. Makes all the long days and nights in my studio worth it. Thanks for sharing.
Bro, can you tell me how to get all this? I happen to be a traditional artist and want to turn my imagination into this card. I don't understand how you guys get it and put it through the auction. Thank you
That is awesome, what a lucky collector/player
Thank you Jeff, this has been an absolute pleasure to watch.
Im glad u have a job ive been painting alters and miniatures for over 20 years and nobody cares about my art im glad you have a career in fantasy art with wizzards they enjoy the 300% mark up on your art in the form of cards for the public to buy thank you for the vid.
Thanks for sharing Jeff!
Very nice! I love the "The Fog" green oozey-mist! Thankyou for sharing with us! :)
I like your idea of starting with the character's silhouette first. I'm keen to give this a shot today and see how it goes :)
Awesome vid as usual, Jeff! Watching you inspires me so much
Always amazing Jeff.
This is so relaxing, Jeff. Happy Graveborns...

I'm very happy to have stumbled across this channel. Some time ago I was searching for some artists who did fantasy acrylic art, and this perfectly fits what I wanted to learn ^_^

Oh man, this was delightful to watch. I'm about to try my hand at painting over a card for the first time, so this was great for inspiration.
So glad you enjoyed it and found some inspiration. Thank you. And good luck on your project :-)
Wow. Awesome work. Love it.
Please do more videos like this, it's amazing. I'd love to see a process video of some alters!
Love seeing magic artists do these. Glad to see you using Golden Fluid Acrylics. Best paints for painting on cards.
I have a vid of myself painting a Rockwell on a card on my channel.
That was really cool and interesting. Loved the insight into your process and watching you work. I was looking for some inspiration for a gouache cover I'm working on for one of my books, and your video provided it. Thank you!
Hey. Years ago I've learned about ACEO and was hooked up. Could finish the piece within a day or two. Sold maybe 2 or 3 pieces but now you've hooked me up again. Amazing work. Always a fan.
Dude you're a wizard!!
Nice work as always! Anyway, I got a tip for the tape issue. I work as a decorator/painter in Sweden, and we often "lock in" colors after taping. So, paint some acrylic white at the edge of the tape, let it dry and do the actual painting, and voilà! You get a sharp edge after removing the tape.
Great tip. Thanks for that :-)
That is really impressive work!
I must say, watching that painting was absolutely mesmerizing. I wish I had even 1/10th your skill.
Joran Moore you’re too kind, Joran. Thank you 🙏
awesome as always!
Do more videos of the artist proof card paintings; they’re wonderful and instructive...
Please more of this. Wonderful!ote

5:41Was the most satisfying moment of my day.
I love glazing. So I'm totally with you. It was the most satisfying part of the painting for me, too.
Hey Jeff. Really a wonderful image. I always enjoy yours videos. Cheers

Wow! I just found your channel, and i just barely know what Magic the Gathering is, but i love your work!! You're awesome, and really inspiring!

You're awesome
great video, i work with acrylics, and you definitely had some helpful points,.,thanks
Great!❤👍🖤
Soooo so cool and awesome *o*
ROCKSTAR!!!
that was boss!
Thank you :-)
Holy shit that's so sick. I don't even play magic, but that art is wicked!
Thanks, Billy. Much appreciated.
wow, thats really cool! i wish i could use the scraping off the bleeding edges trick with my watercolours rip
Yeah, sadly it won't quite work them same with watercolors. Not plastic-y enough ;-)
I panicked when u scratched the surface of the card, cause I thought u were just demonstrating how easy the paint comes off.
But the rain effect is amazing. wouldnt dare trying that on one of my alters tho :D
Oh come on. Live on the edge. Scratch away!! What's the worst that can happen? ;-)
jeffmiracola I ruin not only all my work but also my card for instance :D
You can try to brush some transparent acryllic over the edge of masking tape, this will seal it and paint will not flow under.
Nice!
Amazing
Very nice artwork (and thx for explaining the painting)
Thank you. And you're also very welcome :-)
Amazing!
Thank you very much, Otavio
@@jeffmiracolaartist the level of detail in an image of that size is incredible.
Thanks for sharing!
Love it
Thank you.
That was really cool! you got a new subscriber.
Happy to have you on board. Thanks for subbing and thanks for enjoying the video, too.
Awesome
For anyone who is inspired by this, I know for sure Hobby Lobby sells blank Canson Artist Trading Card packs :D they are so fun and i've given them to my friends as gifts and they love them so much! I think there are some other brands as well at other art stores like michaels but those were very high quality, and were thick Bristol board and the same size as MTG and PTG cards for sleeves and such.
That was pretty dope
Thanks.
That was very cool!
Thank you, Emma
I am interested in painting too..but I never use this paint for details..this working is wonderful!..
Tip to avoid the blue tape rearing your piece: if you take a hairdryer and heat the tape up, it can help with that
Great!✌🏻🔝😉
awesome
Green frog tape works better than blue tape, it’s a little more expensive but no seepage. Take it from a union painter👍🏽 Love your work btw!!
Put some clear medium over your tape to help with the bleeding
Addicted to rimlighting. So rimlightning addicts with dr drew might be a good tv-pitch.
If you use masking tape you can then remove it quiet easy afterwards by gently heating it with a hairdryer to soften the gum.
You could use a white as first color on corners, so the bleeding color is actually white... You can still scratch that of, but it will be a even sharper edge...
Your artwork is so damn cool
Nice
An absolutely stunning piece!!! 😍
Did you pre-sketch it on paper or did it just come out as it is?
This is terrific! Been a fan for years, but never watched one of your videos. I always imagined your voice to be like Morgan Freeman. Oh well.
LOL I would LOVE to have a voice like Morgan Freeman because then it would actually be fun to voice my videos ;-)
I just started painting, and tried to paint along with this. These small details are so hard to learn! Also, the green glow totally ruined my painting lol... any tips anyone? Awesome video!
I got a bunch of Magik card for the art alone
Could also try using a heat gun or hair dryer to warm up the tape adhesive when taking it off the card.
Kerry-Jean Watson yeah I’ve done that before successfully. But it’s not always successful and can lead to leaving gummy glue on the card, which is not good for these cards. I’m ok doing that on a normal painting but any glue on these cards means it gets stuck in the players sleeve. I don’t need players upset with me for ruining their card or sleeves or other cards that go intro those gummed up sleeves.
@@jeffmiracolaartist ah good point and I hadn't realised that. My experience with blue tape and heat guns has usually been with water colour card or cartridge paper. Perhaps the coating of the card you are using allows some of the adhesive to stay behind causing the out come you have had.
Scraping the paint off would seem to be the best option.
Again, awesome vid. You mention you don't like the paint from tubes as they tend to be too thick. On the other hand you also mention that you thin down your paints with water. Couldn't you thin the tube paint down with water? Or does that dilute the paint too much? Are the soft body paints already premixed with a medium? Sorry for all the questions.
