- Here's a video covering some of the challenges and tips I'd give someone that is about to tackle reinstalling the radiator, water pump, fan, and belt of a Case 580 CK/B backhoe. I also cover filling the torque tube back up since most likely you are swapping the radiator because the tranny cooler is leaking and you have coolant in the torque tube TCH oil. Mine was using coolant heavily and it was going into the torque tube (dipstick in front of the shifter). Mine is a power shuttle machine. Good luck!
Man I can't thank you enough for putting this video together. I picked up a '74 580B CK in Oct '22 and have been chiselling away at repairs since. The fluid change in the shuttle and rear is next and I have been hunting for clarification. Really nicely done. Looking forward to seeing what else you do so I can keep mine in good shape, haha.
Glad it helped! I figured since I had been hunting for so long someone else would be too! I'll keep filming as I work on mine. :)
Where did you get your paint? Is that a specific Case yellow? I am doing the same thing. Just did the brakes. I have a slight coolant leak. Also, power steering leaks like a sieve. Do you have any technique for finding hydraulic hose leaks?
I picked up the paint at our local Tractor Supply store. They have Case yellow in a quart and aerosol cans. I'd be curious how the brake job is. My left brake is the only one working and I'd like to do mine. I've been changing hoses and cylinder packing as they start to leak bad enough it's obvious. I typically park somewhere it's easy to see drips and trace then upwards to a spot in the machine if I'm trying to find one.
