I recently had a random Legendary drop an Explosive Handmade Automatic Rifle that is really kickass. I also have a Legendary Explosive Converted Handmade Sniper Rifle that out does the Legendary .50 cal explosive sniper rifle.
It's a fun and good list. Relying on drops, I have a couple mentions: Explosive Advanced Assault Rifle - got as an early drop and using with rifleman, bloody mess & ninja, it one shots most everything and is better in comparison to overseers guardian which I feel misses with that projectile pretty often. Mutant Slayer's Hardened Sniper Rifle - I don't find bugs and mirelurks as menacing as mutants but it was a random drop so there's THAT.
It's hard to decide my favorite weapons but I do have a few. The Deliverer, Bloodied Converted CR-74L and Tesla Cannon. There are a few more like, 10 mm pistol, Handmade Rifle, Pipe Rifle and Rocket Launcher. But if I had to choose one out of the ones I mentioned I'd have to say Bloodied Converted CR-74L cause the more your health drops the more damage you do. Plus it increases your movement speed by 75% while aiming and with a weapon receiver mod you can change it from .45 to 5.56 receiver level 3 which has more stopping power than the Homemade Rifles. Which makes it deadly cause just at Gun Nut level 4 and Commando level 3 you'll deal 101 damage per shot. Aso keep in mind it's an automatic weapon it'll use up ammo rather quickly. So if you need tons of ammo go to Hardware Town and head Southeast and talk to Eleanor she sells tons of ammo including 350-450 5.56 ammo. She's probably my favorite vender other than Aaron at the Nuka-World Market. They both sell tons of weapon ammo if needed. Just wait 2 days and their inventory restocks.
If you just stand around, often the guy in Salem will just...walk into the room...unlocking the door...to get the Reba II. Don't need to kill him or do his quest!
Overseers guardian is an excellent rifle when you attach a kong barrel, but what about good intentions and spray and pray, those are the best automatic rifles

the spraynpray sub is way better than the kiloton rifle does explosive damage but it can kill more than just humans its effective on robots and pretty much any enemy
I'm not arguing against the effectiveness of Spray and Pray. But. It's not a rifle. It's a submachinegun. Also just a personal beef, SMG's have horrendous recoil in this game.
The Kilo Ton Radium rifle absolutely melts any and all enemies in the game. I converted it to automatic with the strongest receiver and it’s incredible at short to medium range.
Far Harbor has an automatic rifle with the Dead Eye legendary effect. I've upgraded the rifle to the highest damage single shot receiver and with the time slowing effect it's the only gun I need. I also have Rifleman maxed to assist with raising the damage.
Although the Manwell Rifle And Manwell Carbine are Content Creation add on they are the pinnacle of rifles the Hunter Variant is agreeable the strongest ballistic gun in my arsenal doing 259dmg in semiautomatic
The overseer's gaurdian is the best one, especialy after you upgrade the ammo to .308. The lever action rifle's ammo is it's draw back you can only get it in Far Harbor and even there it's in limited quantities. With the splatter cannon you can change the colors to any of the factions. You didn't mention the Spray and Pray which is even better than the Splatter Cannon, mostly because it uses commonly found ammo.
:) I found an equivalent to the overseer's guardian and modded it to .38 Ammo (much lighter and easier to find), silencer and long recon scope. deliverer for up close, only two weapons I'll ever need to carry around. which is a bit of a bummer^^
@@colerape Very good. legendary BOS Knights in Powerarmor still die with one sneak-headshot before they can mutate, a paladin commander might need a crit, but is usually dead before they realize what's going on. Deathskull radscorpions loose a significant amount of health before they can burrow. Haven't been to Nukaworld yet & can't tell anything about the Queen, though.
Early game acquisition of REBA. Reba has some very nice attachments already on it, that it takes some perks to make yourself. Even if you don't want the crabby killing legendary effects... those attachments on the rifle will save you a lot of time that you can use on building up a rifle that you DO want. The Last Minute. Limb damage is a legendary that you really need to understand to use properly. 1) Limb damage can render a deathclaw HELPLESS if you take out their legs. 2) The *head*, is by all means in game mechanics, *considered a **_limb_* Overseer's Guardian. Doesn't require DLC. Use MUCH more common ammunition, and is not considered to be a bolt action rifle by GAME MECHANICS. Lever action guns in the vanilla game also have a VERY SLOW reload speed, due to having to reload the MAXIMUM number of rounds, regardless of how many rounds you've actually fired.
for the problem solver you dont need to do anything just have the nukeworld dlc and go to the marfket next to nukatown usa and buy thats it lol its a dlc weapon only in nukaworld
Most of these are only good for early game and will fall off pretty fast after level 20-30. I wouldn't call them insane. Overseer's G, Spray'N Pray, Kiloton Radium, Righteous Authority are probably the best easy one to get that will last until you are done playing. Or you can simply farm legendary spawns to get a explosive shotgun or instigating gauss to one shot the entire game even in survival. With the new Enclave's weapons, Telsa Cannon can make the game so easy that you don't even need to look at your monitor to wipe everything clean.
Technically speaking it kinda is but still it's a very good wepon but still idk if your trying to hate but if you are don't do people put time and effort to do this to research and do it in game
December's Child is glitched, the lightweight part of the effect is not active so it weighs the same as a regular combat rifle You mentioned all the legendary Far Harbor rifles except Radical Conversion, the legendary Radium Rifle with the Penetrating/Anti-Armor effect.

It's literally as bad as Preston Garvey sending you over into the hardest part of the map for your first Minutemen quest. Which most newer players take, as soon as he gives it to them at the start of the game. I also have several 100+ chars, and Yes. You're absolutely correct that there's weapons in the game that cannot hold their own at that level. Hunting bugs. There's the argument that this weapon could be useful in Far Harbor. Where so many of the enemies fit into the category of this weapon. But... Honestly... even as somebody who primarily plays the sneaky long range type... I'd argue that I'd rather have a fast semi-auto or full auto, over a bolt gun against those. Thank you for the discussion JD!
I never see videos like this where the narrator talks about vanilla weapons. I understand that the unique weapons are the best but I prefer vanilla weapons that I can give my settlers. I can make a two-shot Nuka Nuke with console commands if you wanna talk about "best weapons." And I usually dump all of the Unique weapons I get in my "collectible trash" storage because I'm happy with my tricked-out Vats Enhanced Gauss rifle with a constantly console-spawned 999 ammo. Not before tricking it out said Unique weapon, of course. I can easily spawn the mods for it. Edit: when I leave the vault, traversing the map in a single run is nearly impossible. Not because it's too dangerous with my "Only Legendary Enemies" mod and "SKK's Random Encounter Manager" with the random encounters turned up to 100% (fun fact: downtown Boston is like a war zone.) No. When I leave the vault and before I talk to Codpiece, I have tricked-out Legendary Marine armor and tricked-out Legendary weapons. And 999 on each of my ammo types. (I can easily get more ammo, but why?) Oh, and 19 on all of my S.P.E.C.I.A.L.s. The problem is all the Legendary loot I pick up bogs me down (even with 19 Strength) and I have to keep teleporting (with console commands) back to Sanctuary to dump my loot. And for what? A Legendary Unique weapon? Come on.
@jeorgehiggyman - my friend, max out your Bloody Mess perk on that character. Combine that huge rate of fire, explosive effect with the ability to potentially chain effect the bloody mess explosion and you can depopulate crowds like NOBODY'S business.

It's too bad you won't find ammo for the lever action and handmade rifle outside nukaworld/far harbour.
The vanilla mechanic for reloading the lever action is a very serious drawback too.
I love Righteous Authority because you can fully convert it into a pistol as well.

There are some situations where non-explosive weapons are better...where you don't want collateral damage.

I don't farm legendary spawns. To me that is outside the scope of an RPG. I feel like I'm cheating when I die and use a save to reload the game.

i found an explosive minigun and with all perks maxxed, lets just say that a legendary glowing deathclaw died in 2 seconds ON VERY HARD MODE.
