Yes, Muscle memory is magical. If one practices consistently, Body will pick up easily with mental and physical memories. Of course you have very well explained it. Memorising jathis, Lyrics, knowing the meaning and writing the notes is very important 👍👍
Very nicely explained. Some more new terms. Dhruthathalam, Vilambakalam, - Fast paced Jathiswara or Tillana... Omg... Completely opposing steps at such speed. Well well .... writing it down etches it on the memory as well as makes it clear (vs jumbled up). ತಕಿಟ ತಕಿಟ ತಕಿಟ ತಯುಂತತ್ತ ತೈತಾಂ ತಯೂತತ್ತ ತೈತಾಂ. Waiting for the next video.
I appreciate and salute you for your interest. 🙏🙏 Well said Pratibha. You will have one more fan/sincere student. !!! 😄😄😄. All the best to both of you ! 😂
Hello akka After listening to the tips one word striked me that consolidates your tips is "INVOLVEMENT"in dance with having no other thoughts except adavus, choreography & abhinaya which will make even more easier to memorize choreography😄
Very useful video👍 Every tips were my favourite. But the 6th tip was my favo of all: making notes💝Even my dance teacher suggested that tip. And i used to draw stick figures for remembering of adavus and other songs. Whenever i forget the steps, i will refer to my earlier stick figures and finally remember them😊 Thank you so much akka!!!!🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful tips for memorising choreography. You are absolutely on target when you explained the sequence of learning and practicing. I feel, understanding the Lyrics is most important for all dancers. Ha..in addition to this, mental practice and jotting down the notes also goes a long way. Well said Pratibha. !!! 👌👌👍👍

Glad to view them. I always thought I am the one facing issues. Maybe you should be the chosen one to peruse the art. Seeing these videos make me feel I am not the only one sailing in the boat. Issues can be addressed we need to work towards it. I have started to learn bharatanatyam again at the age of 35, thanks to the passionate teacher I have. And all the varied topics make great sense. Thank you Prathiba, very useful information. My guru gives the same tips as you said now. But though i have memorized the sequence of jathi or padam, its hard to complete the whole sequence during practice. Not sure if its stamina issues. I would like to perform complete Jathiswaram without any breaks inbetween in my class.
The very fact that you have recognised you need to improve on certain aspects is the first step to success. As dear Pratibha has already written, Practice makes Perfect. You will do well. God bless
