Once VR adoption gets to a higher level and the market is there; more games will be made. It always comes back to supply and demand.

Use the UEVR injector mod. Any UE4/5 game becomes VR with the mod. Not trying to self advertise, but I uploaded a clip last night that shows what's possible with it.
The mod is a true game changer.

Hey Matt, it was fantastic bumping into you at AWE!
As you mentioned, the lines to try out the latest headsets, devices, and wearables were crazy long. This was my first time at AWE, and there was so much to take in. With the demo slots filling up so quickly, the FOMO was real! I really appreciate your coverage of the devices in this video that I didn't get to try at the event.
As a new XR Designer fresh out of school, I found the AWE Hall of Fame, the XR Women's and AWE Awards truly inspiring. It was fascinating to discover the remarkable work being done with emerging technology by various companies, industries, and organizations for a wide range of end-users.
As I mentioned, you are my go-to UA-camr for AI/tech news. Your videos always offer a great mix of the latest devices, developments, and fun and helpful tutorials.
Thanks again for keeping me in the loop.
BTW - I highly recommend subscribing if anyone else reading this is a fan of Matt's videos.😉👍

Fallout 4 and Skyrim are entire, experience-rich AAA open worlds in full VR.
7 years later, there's still no competition for them, nor do they get any attention from Bethesda.
VR needs comparable new content to drive hardware adoption.

Many of these devices seem like the ridiculous tech we saw from the 60s and 70s. I believe we need something revolutionary to fully immerse ourselves in VR. I genuinely think this breakthrough will come from neuroscience and is probably 15-20 years away (maybe sooner, considering we never know what AI will accelerate within different fields of science).

The hoverboard controller is a great idea. I could definitely see something like that being part of the future of VR gaming. Using a joystick to move when you've got 6DOF feels WRONG, but most omnidirectional treadmill solutions seem extremely expensive and somewhat impractical as well. Simplifying walking down to a device that essentially lets you glide-around in real life is kind of genius. I think. Haha.

The issue I have with VR is partly the physical tech but more that there aren't very many apps or games that take full advantage of the tech. Half-life: Alyx, which came out 4 years ago, is by far the best game I've played in VR and it required a PC hookup. The various Star Wars games were good as well, but since those there's nothing really that interesting to me.

Glad to see you not riding the AI hype train this time. AI hasn't gotten much smarter these days. Just getting subpar features to keep the gravy train going until the "next big thing" happens. With realistically only about a year or so before we run out of information to train the models with, AI isn't going to get much smarter. Probably a good idea to spread the focus of this channel to other related areas.

  • @bazookaman1353

AI is the key to VR.
VR has LOTS of hardware addons that make the experience better, more immersive and more useful for fitness. We're pretty close to full dive people just aren't aware of it.
However, it's unlikely that a game has support for an addon, let alone a full setup of them, so they're unused.
However, an AI Sandbox (which I predict will happen) will only need to add support for an addon once for it to be usable in infinite experiences (or at least before it breaks).
And there's a good chance there will be an open source Sandbox so support would be added very fast.
