Geez those last few minutes were nerve wracking. Who knew Home Alone on NES could have you on the edge of your seat like a modern day survival horror game?
Hey U Can Beat Video Games, I found out for the "freezing at the bottom of the steps", they CAN get unfrozen IF you go up or down the pole on the left-hand side of the house. I had set up all the traps and was running around aimlessly and when I went up that to the 3rd floor, I was hearing explosions of traps being used and was like "what?" And saw Harry and Marv can both get freed from that particular one if the left-hand side pole from 1st floor to 3rd floor is used. I wanted to share it on here since you (re-introduced me and) showed me how to beat this game. Merry Christmas!
fun fact, they didn't want to cast a kid as "ugly girl" to avoid damaging an actress' self esteem, so the art director's son volunteered to put on a wig and pose for the photo.
I'm assuming you're having trouble with the twins at the end? Dragon Feet skill book. Fill every other spot with love potions for health recovery. Immediately attack the twins as they exit the doors and dragon kick them against the wall repeatedly. Do not stop. Eventually one of them gets up and does a jump kick that knocks you back and nearly wipes out your health. Pause, drink a love potion, then work them both back into the corner. Eventually they get defeated. Then for Simon, get on the fence and just repeat dragon kick Simon in the head, he'll never hit you. Roll cheesy ending.
@Jaybird you never know, the Guardian Legend person got their wish (they commented on many videos for a good while). Besides, the are only so many NES games out there!
I can't believe you beat this game! 😯 I tried so many times as a kid and just couldn't win. What made it worse is this was in South Africa where all the Famicom games were grey market so none came with a box and manuals - I had no idea the chandeliers were items! Thanks for teaching me something even decades on. Have a great festive period to you and the pooches 😃
Movie licensed games are mostly out there for the quick buck, but I appreciate you added some background info on THQ and even Bethesda. I was a fun yet short experience 👍🏼
The Genesis version of the original game was actually pretty good, it had a crafting system that was very innovative for the time and decent graphics, and the first two Home Alone movies are two of my favorite Christmas movies of all time, i still watch those movies at least once every December.
This was awesome thank you. This game was way more fun than I thought it was going to be. The controls on the sideways stairs are the hardest, once you have those down you are GTG.
Great episode. This game is HARD! I never beat it as a kid. Never knew about the chandeliers! But I'm pretty sure I never got closer than 7 minutes left either. Great to see a full run.
I remember playing this as a kid, I knew about the chandeliers (one use each, or two if you can successfully drop them on the bandits heads) but probably only ever made it to the ten-minute mark myself. The manual even took time to mention how the bandits would search the house methodically and be increasingly more likely to discover you hiding as time went on. The SNES game was more fanciful to be sure, but also just a lot more fun.
I love that you took “a break” for Christmas yet picked an amazing title to keep with the spirit. The break meaning not an hour+ or two parter. If we don’t see u next weekend hope you have a good new year and merry Christmas to all who celebrate. Happy winter to all else. Much love. Awesome episode per the norm. Cya soon
The perfect Christmas present today. Thanks so much. "Home Alone" is one of my favorite Christmas movies. ☺ I wish everyone, who's celebrating, a Merry Christmas. 🎄✨
Your hints and tactics have helped me to finally win on some of my games, thank you!! I was wondering if The Addams Family, or Timelord might be used soon, I still have some difficulty with them.
I remember going to the movie theater when I was a kid when the movie first came out. It was the most packed I ever seen a theater be. We had to sit in the first row the closest to the screen because those were the only seats available. I was thinking why do they make seats this close what maniac sits in the first row. Good times. Merry X-mas
I remember renting that game when it first came out. I was probably around 5, it always stuck with me and eventually decades later I came across it and now own it. I still find it hard for some reason
I can't believe it's already been an entire year since this episode! While definitely not the best game on the system, I appreciate that it tried some interesting mechanics with hiding and traps. I wouldn't mind seeing a formula similar to this tried again in a modern retro-style game with a bit more polish.
Dude, I've been playing this game since I was a kid and I had no idea you could hide, drop the chandeliers, or that the traps have different power levels. Another great video my friend! Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁☃🎅
Home Alone!! My Man Ma Man if I could I would create 100,000 different UA-cam accounts and subscribe to your channel on all of them that’s what you deserve Kid, keep up the the Good Work your making a lot of people Happy by giving them the opportunity to relive their Childhoods with these Playthroughs.
Ooof, I remember renting this stinker back in the day. I did know about hiding, but I didn't know it had a limit, so I was never really able to figure out why sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't, and since you don't know if they're going to pass by or catch you, I gave up on trying at all. I never even came close to beating it, but I don't remember it well enough to know what my mistakes were. Amazing watching you go through it so calmly and everything, but I'm really curious about those numbers next to the timer.
Man, I haven't watched Home Alone this year! I need to watch it. I think I played this game once when I was a kid. We got two rentals and the other must have been more exciting because this was only played for a few minutes.
Best tricks - immediately get the traps in the far end of the basement and redeploy them in the front yard and tree house. Same with the kitchen and any dead end area. Then use traps as little as possible and spend the mid game hiding. Make large loops from treehouse to top floor, down drainpipe or stairs, across front yard, into basement, back out and back into the treehouse. Wastes lots of time. Also allows you to keep track of the bandits and has a tendency to avoid them. This allows you to choose best paths. Since you didn’t burn through traps, and just let them run around and waste time, you will now be able to have tons of traps at your disposal and they will have longer life limits. You really want to place the traps strategically on either end of the treehouse rope and by the drainpipe for quick escapes. Try to use them only when being chased.
MAN. My parents bought me this game when a rental store was clearing NES games in favour of next gen (SNES). It had no manual so I didn't even know about the hiding ability! I loathed and actually kinda liked this game. I probably never got past the 10 minute mark though lol
I actually have a funny story about this game. Sometime around late 90s to early 2000s. My buddy and I were playing this game and had been trying to beat it for the longest time. One night he was playing his turn and made it down to about 1 minute left. Thought we finally had it in the bag when out of nowhere I ripped this epic fart that smelled radioactive. The smell hit him with about 45 seconds left to go and was so bad it broke his concentration from the game. Sadly, while he was busy gagging half to death, he was captured by the bandits. He was so mad at me for that. 🤣🤣 The good news is we finally ended up beating the game a few weeks later.
Funny you should ask that question at 16:03, because that's the exact same thought Macaulay Culkin himself has when watching Home Alone today. As Culkin himself put it: "This kid is a clever kid, and these guys are about to break in. Why doesn't he just call the cops?"
Thanks again for posting a holiday game on Christmas Eve this year. I also watched the original film of Home Alone with my mom in theaters in the early 90s.🎅🎄🤶
Always nice to see doggo press the MEW button :D
I'm glad your channel exists. Its the only time i have ever watched entire walkthroughs for games ive never played. Its that well done
Me too
I appreciate how difficult it must have been to say: "Allllll Riiiight!... Home Alone!" Merry Christmas, dude, love all your videos!
Geez those last few minutes were nerve wracking. Who knew Home Alone on NES could have you on the edge of your seat like a modern day survival horror game?

Still holding out for a River City Ransom episode! But I gotta admit, this is a great choice for xmas.
I spoofed pokemon go in Japan, and they made a city named after this game. River City.
RCR is one of the best games of all time.
Love me some Kunio-kun games

This man is the NES MASTER! Thank you for your entertaining videos!
Not only does the dog speak English and is a great narrator… he’s also a ventriloquist! I never see his lips move!! xD
It’s not Christmas without Home Alone -Thank You UCBVG!!!
I can't believe you beat this game! 😯
I tried so many times as a kid and just couldn't win. What made it worse is this was in South Africa where all the Famicom games were grey market so none came with a box and manuals - I had no idea the chandeliers were items! Thanks for teaching me something even decades on.

Jim sent me here.
Great video, you make even the weaker games in the NES library seem fun. Have a Merry Christmas!
There isn't a single walk cycle that isn't just....MAGIC
This was my favorite new channel coming out of 2022. Keep up the good work, hope you continue showing us how to beat video games!
Merry Christmas UCBVG. I'm so glad i found this channel.
The concept of this game is neat. Stealth game on the NES!
That was fun. Thank you.
Even in 1991, Bethesda couldn't manage to put out a game without game breaking glitches.
A very retro-themed holiday special. Awesome editing as always, my man! Merry Christmas!
Movie licensed games are mostly out there for the quick buck, but I appreciate you added some background info on THQ and even Bethesda. I was a fun yet short experience 👍🏼
What a brave soul you are for tackling this game.
The Genesis version of the original game was actually pretty good, it had a crafting system that was very innovative for the time and decent graphics, and the first two Home Alone movies are two of my favorite Christmas movies of all time, i still watch those movies at least once every December.
Great episode! Never thought Id enjoy a game I thoroughly avoided as a kid!
This was awesome thank you. This game was way more fun than I thought it was going to be. The controls on the sideways stairs are the hardest, once you have those down you are GTG.
Just watched this movie last night with my kids, perfect timing hahaha! Great job
Seeing Home Alone on theatrical release was one of my best memories of being a kid. It was friggin glorious! Much like this video!
I saw part 2 in Theaters
Your videos have a great steady pace and dialogue very impressive given the length of your videos
Great episode. This game is HARD! I never beat it as a kid. Never knew about the chandeliers! But I'm pretty sure I never got closer than 7 minutes left either. Great to see a full run.

The SNES game was more fanciful to be sure, but also just a lot more fun.
you guys actually manage to make this game look fun
Merry Christmas and it’s time to settle down and enjoy another banger!!
Geez, the last few minutes of that were really stressful! Good work!
Merry Christmas dude!!! I've been playing this every Christmas for 10 years and never knew about the chandeliers lol!!! Thanks so much!!!!
Merry Christmas to you, too!
I love that you took “a break” for Christmas yet picked an amazing title to keep with the spirit.

6:12 Is it a sneak peek at what's coming in the next episode?? The Addams Family Values on SNES?? :) Merry Christmas, btw!
The perfect Christmas present today. Thanks so much. "Home Alone" is one of my favorite Christmas movies. ☺
I wish everyone, who's celebrating, a Merry Christmas. 🎄✨
Your hints and tactics have helped me to finally win on some of my games, thank you!! I was wondering if The Addams Family, or Timelord might be used soon, I still have some difficulty with them.
It actually seems like a fun challenge to finish this game!
The puppy dogs were all dressed up and looking so cute for Christmas!!!!
I really enjoy your channel! Thanks for showing me all the old school games past level one. Those games were brutally hard 😂😂
Merry Christmas to all, and happy holidays 🎄🎅🤶
Better late than never but I’m just now discovering this video on Christmas Day!
Nice work bro! Man I wish YT was around in the 90's.
Better you than me, man. Merry Christmas to the best channel going! ❤️

This channel is so badass. Let’s hope this guy is making tons of cash doing this
I remember renting that game when it first came out. I was probably around 5, it always stuck with me and eventually decades later I came across it and now own it. I still find it hard for some reason
A perfect start to Christmas Eve.

Happy Holidays UCBVG! Was wondering what we'd get for a Christmas episode and Home Alone is perfect! Will we get the Die Hard NES game next year??
Your content is incredible, and you got recommended personally by metokur. I bet your sub count goes crazy next year.
awsome job for 100K thats a celebration. great job on the game as well. This game plays better than the super Nintendo game or the sequel.
Appropriate title for Christmas, and Merry Christmas to you and Yours!
A hat salesman told me you made awesome videos and he was right!
Merry Christmas And Happy Holidays UCBVG and everyone reading this

Merry Christmas, Mate!!

Merry Christmas UCBVG.
Man, I haven't watched Home Alone this year! I need to watch it. I think I played this game once when I was a kid. We got two rentals and the other must have been more exciting because this was only played for a few minutes.
Appropriate Christmas game. Astyanax is a pretty easy game to do at some point. 8 eyes would be also a good one too.
Merry Christmas UCBVG!! 🎄🎄🎄 Here's to another year of video games we can beat. 🍻

16:13 do I need words on how funny that is
Merry Christmas!!
Thanks again for posting a holiday game on Christmas Eve this year. I also watched the original film of Home Alone with my mom in theaters in the early 90s.🎅🎄🤶
Merry Christmas!
Season's Greetings from the BIG SKY. I've seen this movie many times. I'd wager I saw 8 fatal stunts in that movie.
you hit 100k subs!! congrats!! merry ho ho!
Merry Christmas to you and to your beautiful dogs :)
I actually like this game. Many people panned it but I found it a fun challenge
Its kinda like a game of hide and seek - a fairly unique premise for a video game!
I never knew a game existed 😳
