I'm guessing star wars is most likely responsible for that, as an extragalactic colony implies tech sufficiently far enough ahead that we could be colonists pretending to be low tech mostly for historical reenactment of our emergence from fire to ftl and could if necessary jump back to multigalactic empire levels of tech if angered and not able to win with the displayed low tech at tone of first contract.

Wow Who knew 80's action and Marvel movies would actually be useful one day lol. The terrifying thing is there are some corporate and governmental mad scientists right now working to turn some of our scariest Sci fi tropes into reality. I loved the second story. That was one hell of a way to make sure you got an honor guard on your way to Valhalla. Thanks for reading these great stories, Have a like and share to go with this comment.

LOTS of "regular people" get killed in horror movies... often, quite stupidly.
In fact, it would probably have the REVERSE effect.

The term is “CAUSUS BELLI” not “casus beli “ - it literally means “cause for (or motivation for) war” .
BELLI is the Latin root-word that gives us terms like Belligerent (war-like attitude), Antebellum (before the War, usually referring to the US Civil War), Bellicose (ready to fight), etc.
