    MR. Organic Chemistry tutor, thank you for another outstanding video/lecture on the Isosceles Trapezoids in Analytic Geometry. The Trapezoids/Isosceles Trapezoids are used in Storm Water Management. These concrete structures carry rainwater from point a to point b and are built like a trapezoid. I took classes and work in this field.

      @magmastorm9335 5 років тому

      Answer please anyone? Thank you.

    • @thecosmos7671
      @thecosmos7671 3 роки тому

      Let the Midsegment be E
      And the trapezoid be abcd
      The midsegment creates two similar triangles triangle ABE AND TRIANGLE DEC , YOU KNOW AB AND DC ARE NOT EQUAL JUST PARALLEL SO WE DON'T HAVE CONGRUENT TRIANGLES BUT WE'LL HAVE TRIANGLES HAVING SIDES IN SAME RATIO. GIVEN IT IS AN ISOSCELES TRAPEZOID SO WE HAVE AD EQUALS BC AND WE KNOW DIAGONALS ARE CONGRUENT SO AC AND BD ARE ALSO EQUAL.
      We have angle AEB=angle DEC (VERTICAL OPPOSITE ANGLES)
      AC-AE=BD-BE (WE KNOW AC=BD)------(1)
      AC-AE=EC(ACCORDING TO FIGURE) AND BD-BE=DE( ACC TO FIG)
      SO EC =DE AND AB=BE (FROM------1)
      By SAS POSTULATE OF SIMILARITY WHICh implies That two sides of a triangle are proportional and the included angle is same then.Triangle AEB ~Triangle DEC ('~' similarity sign)
      That implies that
      AE/EC=BE/DE=AB/DC (AE =BE AND DE=EC ,if these sides are equal then their ratio will also be the same)
      In conclusion midsegment does not bisect the diagonals but divides them in equal ratios as that of the top and bottom side.
      I hope this helps ⭐

      In an isosceles trapezoid , diagonals are equal and two sides are equal too ,but the top and bottom side are not equal ,I guess you're describing those as 12 and 8 cm.
      If you'll explain, I'll try to help.
