  • Rally lengths of 0-4 shots are the most common, on average, and occur about 70% of the time (on both the male and female circuits). Rally lengths between 5-8 shots occur about 20% of the time and the remaining 9 and up rally lengths occur about 10% of the time. While this perhaps isn’t as surprising on the pro tour - players are stronger, faster, more explosive - you wouldn’t think these stats would hold true on the junior tour would you? They’re not the same as the pros but 0-4 still wins out.
    Some stats:
    Mens:
    Atp 70%
    College 62%
    18’s 61%
    16’s 56%
    14’s 59%
    12’s 55%
    Womens:
    Wta 66%
    College 61%
    18’s 61%
    16’s 58%
    14’s 59%
    12’s 57%
This does not mean that we should not train rallies from an early age, but we must also develop a very aggressive game because statistics do not lie. We need to first work on the technique, stances, explosiveness, serve and return + 1.
In my personal opinion, once the technique is as I want it, I work a lot of ball acceleration, ball speed, the explosiveness in the turns of the hips and shoulders and loading + pushing with legs for each shot to do a lot of damage.
The strategy also plays a very important roll, and that also has to be trained but always taking into account the statistics mentioned above (0-4 rally lenght).

Awesome technique ! Observe his lower body movement ... feet, legs and hips. His stroke begins there, then transitions to his upper body ... torso, chest, shoulders, elbow and finally the wrist. He stays low to the ground and then uses that torque his body creates to accelerate the racquet. Excellent!!!

So much athleticism, knees well bent, but core and hands so tighten and so unnatural movement as result power leakage, fatigue in close matches and injuries to come... smooth natural teqnique drills required. His forearms and face muscles so tighten on slow motion so it looks like he is trying squeeze his racquet. Hi is constantly waiting for a ball in open stance instead of stepping in to the ball giving time and comfort to his opponent :(

He has a big wind up wit the forehand , probably needs to shorten that stroke. Of course I’m a beginner in tennis so I probably have no idea what I’m talking about but I still feel the need to give advice
