  • Hang on - is gender equality an untapped solution to climate change? 🤔 Welcome to the first episode of Climate+, our brand new series exploring the intersectionality of climate change and social justice in collaboration with @earthrise.studio. We know that climate change - like many other things in this world - disproportionately impacts women, and that’s what we’re discussing in episode one.
Women are often the backbone of communities across the world, yet when it comes to decision-making and negotiations on climate they’re often denied a seat at the table.
That’s why climate activists like Joyce Koech, who we speak to in this episode, are fighting to ensure that girls have access to a quality education and to make this a key part of the climate conversation.

    I'm flabbergasted honestly.

There’s a difference between solving climate change by solving gender inequality and solving gender inequality by solving climate change. Investing in climate change reversal is crucial to addressing gender inequality, not the other way around. Don’t twist them up.

Qualified women are fairly represented in all climate change discussions. [key word - qualified]. Education is absolutely the key. The experience of the last 150 years from Western Europe, North Central and South America, SE Asia is that as women's literacy increases the culture expands and families become more prosperous.
B U T - I have yet to learn of a woman reducing global temperature as much as 0.00000002 degrees.
