Where do the lions "take down the giraffe?!" You see the chase and then the lions eating. That's it. You don't see the actual take down. Damn clickbait titles.
They tired and dropped the Giraffe down. Use your brains pls
because most of this footage is from planet earth 2, except the giraffe escapes. the lions eating the dead giraffe is from another source.
Lindsay Grove they do it so u don’t how to watch the poor thing getting taken down😞
@@gussyvangard5181 how ironic that you tell the original commenter to use their brains when your failure to use your own brain caused you to completely miss their point.
@Ross Geller, PhD lol... right so lets just come up with this absolutely baseless and scathing assumption and then harshly condemn the film makers as scum based upon it. What a scumbag thing to do.
This looks so majestic. I feel
like I’m looking back in time at a dinosaur running from ancient predators.
This is why they are the kings of the beasts. It’s not about just strength lions understand the importance of teamwork, they know when to back down etc.
For people wondering the footage is used in Planet Earth 2. So I'm pretty sure the lions didn't actually get the giraffe, just like in Planet Earth 2, so they added in different footage of lions eating a giraffe.
Il leone è il re👑della foresta! Non va mai dimenticato. Bellissimo video complimenti. Mauri 1960❤
Imagine the lions communicating with Australian accents, I got the giraffe mate!
Patrick Zhao yeah... not funny man!
@@Abdulilah.. 😂😂
😂😂
They're African.
😂😂😂😂
I thought this was the video where the giraffe kicks the lion out of the way........my 7 yr old daughter is now distraught and crying...thanks for that
The giraffe just collapse on the ground by itself
The giraffe fell. The lions didn't take it down
These five male lions, rare lions of the desert, affectionately called musketeers, the subject of intense monitoring by a conservation project widely supported by Namibian institutions, had four of them killed recently. One was assassindo the bullet and three were poisoned. A huge tragedy in terms of conservation.
That sucks
You idiot. They are females!
daktari40 the lions are females. Haven't you learned that only male lions have manes?
Joana Llama no they are males with growing manes
daktari40 your right, and the last brother was killed along with a lioness and two cubs.
Those lions had some serious stamina! They ran fast to keep up and just fell short. Until the one that want running started. Then it was all over for the giraffe. Cool video.
Five adolescent lions are hunting an Angolan giraffe.
damm just fell straight like that
some of the scenes look like ep 4 of planet earth II
Giraffe is not attack to lion ..its heart attack lol
Unlike other animals
Lions do team work while hunting 👍
5 lions and a giraffe....is that natures version of 2 girls and a cup?
That giraffe looks like a sub adult..
Why suddenly the giraffe being eaten??? It won’t fall just like that
people in the comments say it's a different giraffe at the end of the video...
If they were 5 male brothers, they could make one badass coalition in a year or two. I couldn't tell but 3 at least were. Missed the takedown over hill, but TY for good video.
If sabretooth TIGERS came back from extinction hunting Giraffe would be a piece of cake for them.
Narrator:Hunting giraffe
Giraffe:Wait...What??
Most of the giraffe hunting videos cut the most important part. How? Does the soft sand end up making the giraffe stumble? Does one or two lions launch themselves on the beast to unbalance it? All the videos that I find have them chasing their prey and then the pride is converging on the carcass...but how do you bring down such a tall animal? How do you end its life? It's not like a zebra or wildebeest.
So, this video is actually stolen from the BBC. The original footage was narrated by David Attenborough and in that documentary it shows that the giraffe actually got away from the lions. A lioness was waiting for it, and she tried to bring it down from the front, but it trampled her. She survived but the giraffe got away. The ending clip used in this video is from a completely different documentary. These lionesses did not bring down this giraffe.
That was a very good shot when the giraffe falls and the mist shrouds the slaughter.
Imagine being pursued by two ,three or five lions 🦁
You know it's not a good UA-cam video when the like/dislike proportions are nearly equal.
como lo derribaron?
Thank you butifull animals
Whatever all commenter scientists, astrophysicists, and screen critics say, the video montage was dramatic. Giraffes do not [cannot] run downhill; so the animal tripped itself up. Its a day in the life in the Kalahari.
If the giraffe had not gone down to the ground the lions had no chance ....
I wonder what will happen if giraffes start running like cheetahs?
Those lions are so incapable it took five of them to take on just one of me.
This content serves only to highlight how good the BBC Natural History Unit is.
The lions didn't take the giraffe down he tripped
I'm convinced that Lions can take down any animal even baby Elephants👍
Lions are the best ever.. are the kings live a savage life... and are beautiful
LIONS are giants killers among the big cats
It looked like the Girrafe fell...
Some Nature programs feel so "fake" maybe that's not the best word...They are so edited and pieced together to tell whatever story they think the viewers wants to see.
C'mon JJ can u beat that?
Guess who’s back??
I couldn’t see too much bcause of the dust but I assumed one of them grabbed the legs
So wait, you’re telling me animals kill other animals to survive in nature!? (Uncontrollable sobbing, instantly dislikes).
Go Jerry, you fuckin rockstar!
did lions halts the girrafe by magic?
My boy got a Gucci collar
Now thats what i call Teamwork
if not for the slo-mo, this is a 90 second video.
this is why i don't understand animals bow down to Lion King, Lions eat people like them.
Yes, this video is so fucking incredible.
girrafe average speed is at 37mph
If you have something to show, show it --- if not, don't tease people.
nature is nature
Why do the lions have collars??? What is this????
Where is the taking down part??? Smithsonian You disappointed me this time
Giraffe and lion gang up and fool a group of nature film crew folks.. (great footage anyway)
Which area is it located in?

Narrator sounds like Vaatu.
God bless your soul, Giraffe

Turbo 1:48
Another BS video where you see nothing but running. what did the film crew decide to shoot the giraffe off screen.
ol
Couldn't see squat...
WHATS around their neck?
A tracking collar
i cud watch that giraffe. run 4ever
So basically that one beautiful animal died so that other assholes could live? That girraffe is an incarnation of Jesus. aaaaaaand Aslan.
Sterling Murracl
Poor giraffe 😭😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺
It appeared from the video that the 🦒 is going to outrun the 🦁 but i guess thats the strategy. Tire the 🦒 by making him run and then attack so the 🦒 isnt able to offer resistance. If the actual attack had been filmed then this would have been a great video.
Giraffes have far greater endurance than lions.
Click bait.
الله مصلي علا سيدنا محمد وآل سيدنا محمد
We came here to see a kill, not some nonsense shots.
flanked
Sad
Melmin nooo.
0:23 AOT-Giraffe ver.

I didn’t know that 5 lionesses can take down a giraffe 🦒
Sara Sarwan they were young adolescents males, just hadn’t grown into their manes yet
Hahahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Real title should be... Incredible: Five Lions Chasing Down a Giraffe
Yout not wrong tho
They took it down though
UA-cam doesn’t want to show the actual end of the lions killing the prey but it did happen watch on the Smithsonian channel
Ж
REAL TITLE YOU DIDNT SEE THE FULL VIDEO 💀
I know it's no secret that these nature documentaries are heavily edited, but it kills the illusion of continuity when it's so clearly not the same giraffe at 0:46 and at 1:06.

where though? Like why not show them actually attacking it?
+moses500xmc how can you offend someone when it's nature at work? Is it because they want to appeal to all audiences, As far as age...? Not to offend a child per say?
moses500xmc you are so right.
*Sigh* know exactly what you mean.. "Political Correctness" is a pain nowadays.. I hate censorship
for serious pissing me right off
will get deleted if they do because its "too graphic"
Crazy how the giraffe changes into a different giraffe at the end. I didn't know giraffes had stand ins!
Well, photo opportunities are everything.
That's a stunt double. 😅
????
TRILL

I'm good at diagnosing behavior and video. This hunt is NOT what the Smithsonian's title or story represents. Near the end of the Giraffes run, it slows down at a revene and most likely fell; probably breaking a leg or got away out of sight. It may not even be the same Giraffe and a separate hunt of a young one altogether. Not enough video to claim what we saw in the video.
Agreed
Sadly I agree UA-cam the business is causing every channel to use clickbait even educational ones
What if this is the tactic of the lion, to get the Giraffe running as fast as possible guiding it to the revene knowing it will fall and they pounce on top?!?!?!
Agreed
Just like them UFO sightings xD I need solid evidence
This is obviously a montage of film clips. The giraffe was in full sprint and the lions were not able to mount an attack. But change clips to lions feeding on a giraffe and the story seems natural. I hate these clips of nature shots melded together to imitate actual kills / escapes just for drama. Its all for TV viewers instead of natural history documentation.
DrewWasMe probably killed the giraffe themselves and let the Lions eat ig lmao
DrewWasMe I agree with you 100% it's so annoying when they film like that. Showed everything except the kill, which leads me to believe that giraffe got away and they used a clip from another kill. For all we know that giraffe they were feeding could have been dead already
What do you even mean? You could literally see the giraffe stumble because of exhaustion before the last shot. The kill itself wasnt in the video to be fair though, true. But still.
You need some glasses Shanox.
Dalibor Jovanovic Um no the giraffe did trip in this video
For a giraffe "refusing to be caught," it sure went down surprisingly easily.
