    Been wrenching on my subies for 15 years. My 2017 STI finally needed pads. I have the manual but I also watched your video as a primer. My Legacy GT isn't bad either, but I love the way the pads come out through the top of the caliper on the Brembos. I prefer Hawk pads over Stoptech. Anyway, great video really appreciate it. 15 minutes per wheel and part of that was cleaning up the caliper. Very helpful. Thank you again.

    hey man, I have The Subaru performance shop M45 that built my motor. or telling me I need to do the rotors and the brake pads for some reason ,yet they haven't even looked at my brakes to diagnose which ones are squeaky. every how-to tutorial I've seen on the STI brembros Don't talk about the rotor having to be changed also. what are your thoughts on that? I was looking to just do the pads myself and didn't want to worry about rotors but what are your thoughts on just doing pads and not rotors. My rotors aren't warped or anything like that. so idk why they are trying to get me to do all that. maybe so they can charge me for more labor hours

    Do you have to change the spring clips and pins when changing brakes I always wondered about that?? Every car I do brakes on I change everything but not sure bout the brembos if I could reuse the pins and clips or not. Any info is great im changing rotors and pads and lines should I just go ahead and change the spring clips pins and retaining clips

    Is it really necessary to take the cap off your brake reservoir? I have in the past and when you compress the pistons in the calipers you get a little overflow of brake fluid out the top of the reservoir. I’d prefer to leave the cap on but not sure. Thanks

    I just put some aftermarket brake pads as well but I hear a small knock when I’m barely moving and I press the brakes, any ideas what it could be? I also upgraded the rotors to some DBA 4000, do I need to upgrade the pins that holds the brakes for different ones?? Brake pads are the same exact size as the OEM

    Wiping your gloves on the brake pad with grease then not changing gloves? Come on now.
    Use the proper tools when compressing the brake piston, not the way you used the brake pad. You could damage the rotor in the process.
    Also DO NOT INSTALL THE BRAKE PADS BACKWARDS OR WITH THE BACK PLATE FACING THE ROTOR. YOU WILL DESTROY THE ROTOR AND POSSIBLY DAMAGE THE caliper. (pro tip, Tanner did that exact scenario to my corvette a few years back.)
    Tanner, I told you I'd critique the crap out of the video 😂😂

    • @Smeedia
      @Smeedia  5 років тому +1

      No issues with using your same gloves, I also swap to amicrofiber when applying 😉
      The rotor takes more harsh road conditions than being pushed on a little bit lol that entire one I was like "When Chris sees this...." lol 🤣
