On the note about the siren skull: I have all of the commendations for the skull of siren song and I can count on my hands how many times it was contested. (one being you funnily enough!) I've also tried to give away supplies by putting the skull on the island with briggsy and scuttling my ship twice, and both times the only crews that arrived were there for a completely different voyage. I also tend to start the voyage even if I'm not doing it just to track its progress or avoid attention, and it rarely gets completed. No clue why this happens but it's insane how free it is. (for me at least)
I feel like I was contested maybe about 20% of the time at most the week it came out and I did it about 15 times. Since then I haven't really done it but I always accept the quest anyways and most of the time those two islands just sit in my stacked quests with the chest and key being untouched for my entire session.
It needs to have infinite incentive to do it, such as huge boosts to Guilds for example. For this quest to stay relevant is has to offer rewards that people seriously think its too good to pass up vs other activities (gold not being an incentive)
Yeah I just started playing this game around Halloween this year, I already don't care about gold anymore, just glory.
@@Pace22I agree I wish the rewards weren’t some crappy sails and figurehead. Like some actual good cosmetics will bring a lot of people.
The dumbest and most idiotic thing Rare ever did was make sunk ships spawn right next to you. Whoever thought that was a good idea needs to be let go. Also a reason why I don’t play anymore. This group used it to their advantage and never turned it in just to get a better spawn if sunk.

One thing about SoT is: either you do stuff uncontested or you sink the same brig like 3-4 times. Ever since I started playing this game I never understood why ppl come back multiple times. Ppl always say "because you want the loot" but what loot if everytime they beat your ass?
It's lame imo, once sunk you should just get sent to a new server like after an hg fight.
Where would the fun in that be though…. What if the crew you sink give you an awesome battle everytime they come back? The result might be the same but the fun you have battling and sinking them is worth their return everytime

If you want your loot back atleast give the other crew time to collect it so it doesn’t sink, rares fault but still
Loot sink timer is far too low. Needs to be 15 min minimum float time for loot.

Sot had so much potential imo. If they fixed hit reg years ago and stopped catering to pve'ers
their lies a problem though. Cater to PvE'ers and PvP suffers. cater to PvP, and PvE suffers. RARE has to find the balance between the 2 which is more difficult than some might think. You have to make PvE worth doing, but also make the PvP fun and engaging. The problem is, PvP has a bad rep because of the shitty toxic PvP'ers that TDM spawn camp.
cater to pve'ers what😂 bro if anything they've been catering wayyy to much to pvp'ers but I do agree that they need to find a balance between the two because you have one side of players that wants only pve and the other side pvp honestly they just need to have two separate servers one for pvp and pve
