Really enjoy your works, lovely drones and ambient performances. Please keep creating.
Would love any insights into your sound design approach when building patches... you get some very organic changes over time. Also, what chord is this? Sounds beautiful.

Thank you for this. Happy to provide some insight although I am still learning.
For the organic stuff, I often have success when I have a nice variety of oscillators just as far as what they're contributing to the sound. Often one oscillator that sounds nice and deep mixed loud to fill things out and a second oscillator that's much thinner or more unpleasant to listen to on its own mixed low for texture. Any additional oscillators (in my case just one more since Peak has 3 oscs per voice) are either an afterthought, gap-fillers, or up a 5th to contribute some density. My modulation habit that I'm kind of trying to break is to have one LFO controlling the rate of a second LFO, and then the second LFO modulates a variety of things. It just makes things a little unpredictable in a nice way and it's really quick and easy to set up. And almost always an LFO or something modulating the fine pitch on some or all of the oscillators-- I love the sound of a sudden detune once in a while or a slow detune over a long period of time. Detunes in general, I guess. And then I try not to be afraid to push all of that into Peak's distortion pretty hard.
It's also worth noting that these videos are usually a tiny piece of evening-long sessions with the Peak, so the biggest contributor is time. Just having a lot of time to turn knobs and have fun.
This patch is pretty simple and I don't know that it follows much of what I said above. I think it's just a sawtooth, a sine, and a thin pulse, all with varying degrees of pitch modulation from an envelope and an LFO. Tiny bit of ring mod between oscs 1 and 2 to dirty things up, unison spread so each voice is either slightly left or slightly right, a little bit of chorus, tons of reverb.
And the chord is Cm11 voiced C, G, Bb, D, Eb, F. Thanks again.

@@communityoflearners Thanks so much for sharing about your process, really cool insights. It's nice to inject random modulations into drones but also good to have control when needed. Great to see you experimenting with the Peak, there's so much to discover. Look forward to your furture videos!

Am I wrong or is it the same loop that repeats itself?? I realized after quite a while, not easy to "hide" this thing!

Haha, yes, there are tiny differences but it is literally the same chord played for the same amount of time over and over again. Thanks for watching!
