I lived all my life in a tropical country wearing just one layer. I just moved to a 4 season country and have been struggling to know what to wear and how to layer as I'm more sensitive to the cold compared to others who have lived here for a long time. They also don't seem to understand my struggle because it's so normal for them to dress up in layers. Your video has been super helpful in teaching me how to be warm and not look weird and bulky! Thank you!!!!!
Thank you for the video, i'm currently living in a place with a very hot temperature and will go to Japan to have my first-ever winter experience. This video is very helpful🥺
Thank you! Right now at the beginning of the year, there are a lot of sales everywhere (as soon the spring collection will come in). Then again usually in the summer, black friday, boxing day, and start of Winter. I like to shop online as you can make use of coupons and subscriber discounts. In person I like to go to "Winners", as they often have branded clothing sold at 20-50% cheaper, year-round. Hope this helps!
Hi there, we are on our way to Toronto in the next few months. Your videos helps a lot, very informative. I did not see a link on where to get the lightweight black down jacket, would you mind sharing please. 😊
Thank you for the video idea! April weather is pretty fluctuating. I'm not sure yet if I'll make a video on this, but for now I can tell you that the weather (in Toronto) can fluctuate between minus 0°C (sometimes early April it snows) and above 10°C. I would pack a light jacket and few layers just in case it gets cold. In case it gets that cold, you have items to layer, but in case it doesn't get that cold, you can pick amongst one of the layers to wear. I would say it starts stabilizing towards end April-May. That's when you can really wear spring attire (cardigans, denim jackets). Another really useful thing as well is to use the weather app. Usually if you check it around a week before it's pretty accurate. Hope this helps!
hello dear! this is so informative, i live in france and i use alot of of uniqlo heattech products! from socks, pajamas, pants and ultra warm thermals.. thats how i hate the cold. I want to ask, how do you use scarf with these jackets? when i use puffer jacket its not easy to look good with the scarf.. Another thing is the gloves, do you use any uniqlo heattech gloves? was about to buy they dont look good at all 😅 however my hands really freeze outside .
You're welcome! Hah those things make a lot of people anxious :) But don't worry, on both fronts, Toronto has a lot to offer (e.g. Tax rebates, and people being accepting of people speaking different languages/accents)
Where the light jacket you have ? What brand is that or link for me to look at? Thank you for making this video I appreciate it , keep it up up the good work 😊👏👏👍
Yes, they're very good. I got two pairs from the brand French Connections (usually available for cheaper at Winners). They are soooo warm and comfortable.
It is warm, but depending on the temperature outside you need to layer it with a suitable sweater and jacket. The regular one for me holds up to minus 5 degrees celcius, max (+sweater). Any colder than that I need to switch to the extrawarm one. But to be conservative, the regular one is ideal for aruond 0 degrees, I would say.
You can always double layers, e.g. thin tights, then layer thermal legging (these are warmer than normal leggings), then jeans (alternatively, go for thick fleece joggers if you can afford to go casual)
Haha, I could wear the same for 10-20 degree Celsius, but I try to temper myself and wear thinner clothes at that temperature so that I have something to upgrade too lol.
Oh glad that it wasn't just me thinking that what she wear for 0 to -5 is too thin. I moved here in Hokkaido 2years ago and my clothes are thicker than the clothes in this video and i still get cold. I thought something is wrong with me.
I moved to Hokkaido for the last 2 years and i still can't figure out how to dress properly. It is only 0 to -10 here during winter but my clothes i use are thicker than your clothes in this video but i still get cold.
Not really feeling the "wearing thermals as the only top", because you can't fit anything else under the jacket/ coat. What if you have to go indoors and take off your outerwear? I see thermals as underwear, not actual tops. Just buy a jacket big enough, so that you can fit actual tops/ sweaters under :)
I don't have the link to the exact product, I'm not sure if they still make this exact one. This one comes closest to the one I had: amzn.to/44Z1AY9 But note that it doesn't say it has down feathers, so I 'm not sure how warm it is. This one also seems to look a bit shorter, but it might just be the model being tall. Design-wise it looks quite similar.
@@LivinginCanada thNk you so much! Oh i wish i can find the same as u have. Also what leggings brand and model u use for winter that u showed in one of ur vids is it uniqlo too? What model? Plsss
Watch how I switch from summer to WINTER wardrobe in my newest video: ua-cam.com/video/-8TVRiPCHkQ/v-deo.html ❄🧥
Me too
Girl, you're so good at this. Not a single second of unnecessary blah blah. I'm binging all of your videos. Very informative.

Oh and to answer your question, I did not know you get different thermals, very useful! Thanks for tips!
Sorry, just saw that! It's from the brand Lole, it's a Canadian brand. I think the name of the jackets was Claudia, if not mistaken!
This was sooo helpful!!! Thanks 🙏 from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
You're so welcome!
Thank you for this. Can you also do one video for spring season. I am a new immigrant and still confused whether to travel in april. 🙂

Thanks for the information, I'm going to Toronto soon. Winter is one of the things that I'm scared about, after the taxes and language;)

Also, HEATED hoodies or sweaters. My best winter hack is the thin heat tech sweaters and a heated hoodie over it and then a winter jacket.
@livingincanada do you have the link of the nautica down jacket? You said you made a video but i dont see it please thankssss
Where the light jacket you have ? What brand is that or link for me to look at? Thank you for making this video I appreciate it , keep it up up the good work 😊👏👏👍
very useful. and where do you get your light weight dark blue jacket?
Thank you! Do you mean the first jacket (without down feathers): I got this at Winners!
@@LivinginCanada Yes. thats right. thank u so much for the information
What are your thoughts on fleece lined tights? Are they worth it? Do they work?
Yes, they're very good. I got two pairs from the brand French Connections (usually available for cheaper at Winners). They are soooo warm and comfortable.
@@LivinginCanada Thank you so much. I will definitely buy them.
I think you forget about bottom part. I think for colder time, wearing longer coat and layered pants will be very helpful.
Miss can you layer with short sleeves?
I was confused about the Uniqlo inner ware the regular one if it is actually warm as it seems to be very thin ?

What material should we look out for, as for the tights?
How many layers do you wear? What is materials, nylon?.
Tq.
Very informative
Thanks!
Thank you, this video arrive to my page when i search hokkaido clothing when winter, so i just need uniqlo for 0 to -10 celcius XD
Help, where can I find a warm thermal shirt in tan color with a wide scoop neck? I'm having trouble finding any.
Are you came to canada from japan
I'm not from Japan, have just traveled to Japan several times and love it!
Very helpful
Happy to hear!
Thanks 🙏
What's your slim black jacket
The dark blue one? It's from winners, I'm not sure there's a brand.
Which is the black jacket
Thank you very nice 👍
I am always so cold in the winter, I would die with just one layer on my legs! I need something warmer than leggings and jeans, any thoughts???

Can someone recommend a -40 cute jacket
How to protect the ears?
This is really helpful.. where did you get the thighs?!😊
The tights you mean?

Much informative! Thank you so much. But i need repeated few times from your video, coz u spoken speed little faster for me.... 😅
Oh I wasn't aware of that, could be! Thank you for watching anyway!

On rare occassions!
