i live in california and bov's have nothing to do with exhaust emissions so it doesn't effect the smog...it just a pressure release valve...the car comes stock with one its just not as loud. and any modification voids warranty so long as they dont' know about it (like an intake) it won't void out
It's not an advantage its a necessity. When the turbo is spooled up and you let off the throttle, all that pressure has to go somewhere or you'll blow up your compressor/throttle body. It just lets the pressurized air escape.
The turbo is spooled up producing boost & the throttle body plate closes - that air has to go somewhere - it goes out of the BOV instead of having nowhere to go and stopping the spinning turbo which could potentially damage it.
Question when you installed your bov on that side how did you set up your vacuum lines because im currently doing mine on my 2013 bk2 and this is the only thing im stuck on bc of confusion and every example of the bov being on the throttle side is a bk1 so just askin
do you have an after market FMIC?? because your intercooler piping looks after market.. and if you are, are you still running with the stock turbo or a bigger one??
hey question~ when you install the bov is it still street legal in cali? I mean, will it void waranty and mess up smog ? lol... Im just worried of fixing shit up now... cali is too risky now.
Void warranty? just take it off and install factory parts before you show up to a dealer? Smog idk? it is passing exhaust gas without being cleaned... and my brother drives a turbo'd 350z and hes never been pulled over for that. other stuff yes. not a bov though

Very, very nice!!!
The whoosh sounds BOV's sounds waaay better than the high pitched whistle soundsing ones
might be one that HKS is using cuz they have a bunch of parts for that now
awesome!!!
@Tibboi09
that looks exactly like the BOV provided by soeul racing. i know this is 2 years later but there it is.

Do u have check engine light on after installed the bov?
What other mods have you done/what BOV is that?
I'm a NA guy, I want to know the advantages of a bov....just curious
Is that the system upgrade fmic
no xtra hp, when you let off the throttle it vents the boost into air to keep turbo from damage.
you know what kind of bov that is???
Hyundai needs to work on their wire tucking. lol
its not an HKS
the sell the whole bov+ piping on seoulfulracing for 250 $
No i dont sorry.
