I hope Gabby has so much fun this year. When she came back in 2015 she was fantastic but 2016 ended up being perhaps a little disappointing for her. Making the Olympics but only doing bars in TF and then being out of the AA despite qualifying in the top 5, and not having a great day in event finals. IMO Gabby is one of the most natural and gifted gymnasts ever, if anyone can do it, she can. And remember she is only a year or 2 older than Simone. Hope she crushes the Winter Cup.

She’s way too old now. Olympic level gymnastics is high school kids. It’s too long being away, and also her body just not being as lithe and limber as it would have been 12 years ago…

I’m not pretending to follow the sports. I still know how Olympic level athletes work for it. There is a reason USA has had not one, but TWO greatest women’s teams ever, and bought back virtually no one from either of them 4 years later. I’m supposed to believe Shawn Johnston forgot how gymnastics work? No, she aged out, in less than 4 years. I adore Gabby. From my limited watching of gymnastics. She’s probably my favorite I ever watched at the Olympics. Tell me the last time you saw a World class outfit bring back someone from even 8 years ago, LET ALONE 12!!!!!! This is a literal 4th Olympic cycle.
I think you are missing a couple things. 1-Over the last 8 years, gymnasts from all over the world have been competing well into their twenties so it is no longer uncommon to see. 2-Every athlete is different so they don't necessarily age the same. Gabby stayed in shape even when she was not competing, she also naturally has a lean athletic build and has maintained her flexibility while Shawn Johnson already injured her knee before even attempting her comeback so she was clearly not in shape. 3- If you watch Gabby'sr recent training videos, you would see that not only has she gotten most of her skills back, she has even learnt some new ones. Muscle memory exists, btw Simone is only a year younger than her and she's basically a lock for the olympics, so your take is wrong. @@mikeclark7026

uhh oksana chusovitna a gold medalist has competed in the last 8 Olympics in woman’s gymnastics and she is 48 years old. So what are you talking about
