Thanks, I really enjoy your videos. I do a lot of zooming in my videos so doing it on an adjustment layer is way smarter, allowing me to leave the video track untouched - nice! A really nice collection of tips here - PROPS! 👍💫
Great video, Joris! I'm glad I bumped into your work! I have some learning difficulties and over time, I've noticed that if something is explained visually, I understand the concept and can delve deeper into the subject if it interests me. I'm an old poop that gave up on Adobe products years ago. Talk about a suite of digital manipulations that needs a fresh piece of paper to rethink their product entirely... I had never heard of DaVinci and their products before! I ripped out all of Adobe smelling up my hard drive and blindly installed DaVinci's suite. I can "see" this much better than squeezing the life out of my work as I seemed to with Adobe. Now all I have to do is learn it [insert rolling eyes]. I was lucky and got to work with professional video equipment back in the late 1970s. I'm old, but not that old~it was terribly unusual for a high school to access this sort of equipment. I dreamed of making films, but being practical got in the way of my dreams. Now I have more time than money, but I know you can get amazing results with a phone and the right software! Thanks for the teach, Teach! I look forward to learning more and most importantly, not worrying about how much color film and development I am using! My cousin is in the industry and keeps goading me on to film every day and edit every day. At the time I thought he was nuts, but no, he was wise.
Wow joris. Your a life saver. You have given me the answer i been looking for after years. I purchased some heavy titles from motionarray too and the titles would not render as you mentioned in the start. It's been going on for ages. Thanks for the trick I'm gonna give this a shot 😮
SO USEFUL! Thank you for these! I'm able to start using most of them! Not all at once, sadly, since I can't keep ten things in my mind at the same time, but over time, I'll become complete. 😁
i actually really enjoyed your video. very insightful, and i have really struggled with tracking. could you release a video souly on tracking? when you have the time that is lol. For some reason it never works, and i end up key frmaing it after 2 hours of it not working. then im spending a lot more time doing something that tracking should be able to do, and starting off aggravated due to my previous efforts failing. thank you in advance!!!
I can't even remember how many times I had to re add a specific part of clip because I had deleted the audio a while back and undo was not an option. All I had to do was press on F. Joris the Savior 🙂
Great video thank you, I’m new to Devinci, I’ve been trying tracking and like your video, the boxes are in red lines is there away to change the colour,it’s a job to see objects, in Final Cut it’s white, thank you
Well, I'll be damned! Your render tip worked for me. Struck that problem last night. Knew the solution would be something simple but didn't know the actual solution. Your clip shows up in my feed first thing this morning. Problem solved. Many thanks for the super simple fix!
I am new to Resolve and try to watch as many tutorials as possible. I have been a Power Director (CYBERINK) user for the last 5 years and I'm happy with it but would like to find out what is the fuzz about DaVinci Resolve. I have it on my PC now and play with it from time to time (it is very complex compared to Power Director) and I began to get most of the basics . Its gone take some time..... I have a BIG question: HOW CAN I SEE THE DURATION IN SECONDS OF A HIGHLIGHTED CLIP ANYWHERE (TIMELINE, PREVIEW WINDOW, etc) . I see numbers in 3-4 different areas on the screen but none give me the length of the clip that I just cut. I edit drone videos and need to have an idea of how long a segment will be. In PD when you move the cursor over a clip or click on it shows the exact duration in seconds. Please help !!! Thank you Reply
Mhm, that's weird indeed. Never noticed that because I don't use the Cut page that often. It seems like they forgot it in the Cut page 😅 Anyway, a bit faster than right-clicking is using the short cut Alt or Option + F ... 🤔
One Question important one... I have a pc with Nvidia Gtx 1650super graphics with 6vord 12 thread processors... So if I buy GoPro 11... Can my pc edit Gopro 11 videos in 4k and 5k... Plz do let me know... I love GoPro.. Cheap camera for my contents
Go to the Fusion page first, then to the Effects tab and now if right-click on an effect/transition, you can choose "Show Folder"... and then just delete the files. But you have to go to the Fusion page first, doesn't work in the edit page...
Another note on the render crahses, someone also mentioned previously it may show "offline video" in the emd result, you can look at the time stamp on the video to then see exactly where in the timeline the issue is. When I tried it my video came out smooth without the error. But still useful.
Great Video Joris, I use footage from previous videos a lot that I create into broll sequences and often find myself realigning the clips and color grading them again. I always wondered how to switch between projects without closing them. Dynamic Project Switching will be a fantastic time savior!
i will be coming back to this video at some point so im placing this here for myself: 05:36 PS : please do not delete this video it is VERY useful, thank you
I upgraded to 18.5 and now my voice over changes for pitch and cents sounds metallic and scratchy, no one can tell me how to fix the pitch issues? HELP
Thanks, man! Those are golden tips🙌🙏

really helpful tips. It's a life-saver for me
Great tips! Especially the tracking stuff.. I always did it manually.. took ages.. Thanks alot!
Yeah, I usually let Resolve do its thing and then I tweak the tracking path manually if needed.
I think you just changed my life with the Ripple bit 🙏 thank you!❤

Awesome thumbnail
Sorry but I don't have smart reframing. Is it only available to paid for DV?
Love your hair :)
Dude! Great video and straight to the point!
Much appreciated 🙏🏻🔥
are you using studio version of davinci?
Yes, but I used the free version for two years before I bought Studio...
Ohhh, the F key in Tipp 9 😘😘😘
What is the "lost audio" feature called? When I press F in Davinci it's a shortkey for match frame. Would love to know the name of that feature!
Can you make tutorial of magnatesmedia editing in davinci resolve?

No bullshit, just straight to the point. 👍🏼
It's tough for me but yeah I finally managed to record a no BS 😰😄
@@JorisHermans Thanks a ton! Helps a lot for a beginner like me 😁
One needs to switch timeline resolution to full before exporting!! Are you sure?
Smart Reframe is avaliable on free Davinci version ?
Thanx a lot for the hints, especially the "highlight in media pool"-trick. Works on the edit page. But is there a similar thing on the cut page?
Except right-clicking "find in media pool" of course
Mhm, that's weird indeed. Never noticed that because I don't use the Cut page that often. It seems like they forgot it in the Cut page 😅 Anyway, a bit faster than right-clicking is using the short cut Alt or Option + F ... 🤔

just i installed the transition pack from third party, how to remove it from davinci?
Go to the Fusion page first, then to the Effects tab and now if right-click on an effect/transition, you can choose "Show Folder"... and then just delete the files. But you have to go to the Fusion page first, doesn't work in the edit page...
done, thanks
