    Oh my! you.saved my life. I'm sewing a charm quilt that has approximately 500 triangles in it and I just couldn't get it right! Now it looks great and you made it easy! Thanks.

    Thank you, Pat.
    I have always been intimated by triangles.
    Making sure the long side is in the straight grain (length of fabric) of the fabric when cut really helps, too.

    Hi Pat, thanks so much for the tip. I mostly always use a leader & ended when I start and stop sewing.

    Pat I love your videos. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
    When I join my rows of triangles the tips end up looking cut off. How can I see the rows so the triangle tips show nicely and precisely?

    So you dont iron the hem allowance under each piece first? How do you make sure the finished pieces will be the right size? For applique my pieces need hems.

    Is there any way to sew triangles together that aren’t exactly the size they should be. I cut them all out and sewed them together before I realized any tricks to do this.

    What foot and stitch setting are you using?

    • @PatSloan
      @PatSloan 6 років тому

      TammyB if you go to about 2:20 you can see the panel with the default stitch length set and a close up of the foot

      She mentioned she is using a regular foot, (which for Baby Lock is the J foot).

    I am starting with 4 1/2 inch squares cut in half. I want to sew them together to make a border for a baby quilt. Will I be sewing them together the same way as you did these?

    • @homecookteresagreen
      @homecookteresagreen 4 роки тому

      That would be a different triangle. You are doing half square triangles or right triangles. She was doing 60 degree triangles.

    • @karenminckler4198

      I ended up not doing it. It didn’t work out.

      Didn’t work out? What do you mean? You should watch some videos on half square triangles.

      It wasn’t going to go from one side to the other and be even on all sides. So I put a plain border on it.
