- Now that the drainage problem is solved, I can finally start work on replacing and repairing boards that have been destroyed by my arch nemesis ... MR GROUNDHOG!!!
Motivated now to do a similar project. Thanks! For color, white is good.

Red would be pretty, but would fade in from the sun. Painting red and trimming in white just creates more work. You can’t go wrong with white. It also helps the barn stay somewhat cooler. Love you show. Great work. FYI, I am a Massey Ferguson owner, but love the Kutoba also.

I’d lean towards all white. With imperfections, doing red and white would highlight some of those. Ultimately, you have to look at it! Best wishes!

Been there with the rotted poles before Sam. What I did was place supports on the poles high enough to be out of the way, kind of gantry style. I then cut the pole square, dug out the rotted section. I then poured a concrete pier directly underneath the cut off section of pole utilizing form tubes and Simpson strong ties, let it cure and then sat the pole down onto the new pier and attached it to the strongtie.

@@samsdoinstuff no problem sir. I’d like to add that the price of the tube forms are eye watering now days. I’d now knock up some reusable square form boxes out of scrap wood instead. A little mineral oil on the inside and they’ll pop right off for the next post.

Good morning Sam. The barn is definitely better than it was. Well, white or barn red, too traditional for me. I would go forest green with black trim. Based on the choices you provided I would go with white and a contrasting trim color. Just curious, do you plan to put big barn doors?
Thanks Paul! Your color choices sound great! I don't have any immediate plans for barn doors on that barn. The smaller barn needs a roll-up door facing West. That's in my 5 year plan 🤠👍

You may want to kinda match your house or not. So the choice is yours. Red with white trim is classic. White with a darker grey or dark brown trim looks good too. Choice is yours. You see it everyday & I can't see it from my house so you decide!! 👍👍🍺🍺

Sam, I have enjoyed your channel for some time. Having just watched your latest I have to question your decision to remove the corner angles in your barn door openings. You do know that they are structural? They are there to keep the building from racking where the large openings exist. Please consider replacing them. Keep on trying. WW

I've noticed that you never sweat when you're using your Kubota. Does it come with A/C? Classic White. Saves time, money and cleanup. Use your dad. Dad's are always a font of knowledge. And they enjoy being helpful.

Paint those barns the same color and trim as your house. That way everything is congruent.

Animals like to be near water so getting rid of the water problem around the barn might mean less problems with them living under it

how do you get 2 by 6. . thought that would be 2" wide by 6" thick. didnt think those board were even an inch thick
2 by 6 are 1.5 inch thick by 5.5 inches wide in the retail environment, but can be true 2 by 6 if its from the local mill. Its pretty common in the United States to find 2x4, 2x6, 2x8, 2x10 and 2x12 in the local home centers
