Help! My Echo Dot will not connect to the internet anymore! Alexa!

- After 3 weeks of research through Google, You Tube, Amazon chat help,
and my own idea's. I finally found the solution on why it would not connect to the internet anymore and how I corrected the problem.
What I am fining out is that all of the echo 3rd generations went down at the same time. For whatever reason, all of my other ones work, just not the echo 3rd gen. Thanks for making me laugh.
Thanks for the comment. I have been using my newer one quite a bit lately. For a long time I just sat there. And I have not had any trouble with the new one.
Thank you. I thought I was losing my mind but saw you on the tube and LOVED your solution. My wife and daughter don't like the solution so I cannot try it. Your tube serves a purpose - I now know I am NOT STUPID and am FRUSTRATED with this device. I search for a solution that please my home females. I like yours better!
I know what you mean I was totally frustrated. I was determined to get it fixed. But there was no solution. Don’t hardly ever use it, that is the new one probably didn’t even need to get one.

I said Alexa and she had trouble connecting

Yeah my solution worked good. Now I wish I wouldn’t have gotten the new one because we never use it but it still works.
@@windsurfed1 LOL! At least it works. I have been thinking about doing the same thing. My neighbor has one and it works perfectly and I enjoy hers when I go over to visit. I think I might get the 4th gen also. If that don't work it is time for the sledge hammer. LOL!
I think the newer ones are more up-to-date it probably will work for a long time.

I do not even use my new one anymore. All this technology is supposed to make our life easier,but I found it to be more frustrating so I’m dumping everything. Well maybe not everything!
I had the same problem - spent over an hour trying to set it up ( brand new) but was perplexed that my Alexa app didn't take me through any steps, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled the app again with a completely different email and didn't link it to my old Amazon account this time and it worked !!
That’s good to hear. My new one I. Bought after this one died is still working well
My Gen 4 did this too about 6 months ago. Reset it. Deregistered and all. Contacted customer support countless times and still nothing. We switched to the Google Home Mini and so far not one issue. Fingers crossed, it stays that way.
I got that new one as you saw in the video and I used it for about a week and I never used it again just unplugged it so I don’t have one at all anymore. I guess I don’t need one. But I’m glad you got a new one for yourself

I knew there would be more people out there with the same problem. It was very satisfying smashing it to pieces. I have a new one but I don’t ever use it anymore.
HAHAHA🤣😂🤣 Perfect solution. I had the same problem as you but I had 5 of my 6 dots not connect over night. Tried everything under the sun to get them working again over the last 2 weeks. Nothing worked... including resetting router and modem, disconnecting, reconnecting, taking off cellular data, adding and removing bluetooth, reinstalling the alexa app, moving the device closer to the wifi, wearing an aluminum shield over my head, clicking my heals 3 times while holding my breath, and even shielding my entire home with one of those 10000 foot rolls of aluminum foil from costco.
I'm done with you Alexa!!!! Going back to mechanical switches and transistor radios.
That is a hilarious funny response. I ended up getting that new one and I don’t even use it anymore. It is out in my garage. Anyway I felt better after I smashed mine to pieces, good therapy.

Well, I drug it out too long. It should’ve been shorter. But as you can see I got my frustrations out on it.
In my house Alexa says this without internet:
Sorry. Your Alexa isn’t connected to the internet. Take a look in ur Alexa app and find out on how to fix this issue
That got me worried. After the internet was finally connected my Alexa worked
Well, I’m glad you got it to work. I ended up buying a new one and it is out in my garage and I use it once in a while.

It could just be an issue where a device was blacklisted. LOL. Worked fine after clearing with their tech support for me.
