Magic Johnson and Larry Bird saved Basketball/NBA, but MJ took it to all new heights. I am a guy from Austria. Me and my friends watched the NBA during the nineties simply because of MJ and the Chicago Bulls. We stayed up until 6am to watch the finals and then went to school.
MJ was hated by opposing teams and supporters but they respected him because he always played every game like a finals, always gave it 110% and showed every skill set he had, every night. He played almost every game, unless truly injured, and for the ordinary folk, that was worth every penny, time and interest watching MJ play no matter what team you supported.
