I have covered and met those who have had TBI's (Traumatic Brain Injury), and Mike is quite fortunate to have recovered as well as he has; he's also noted he had serious emotional issues after the crash and still has memory problems, which are not uncommon. And he's spot on when it comes to seat belts. Cars are designed now to protect you if you let them, but you gotta have the seat belt on, or it won't work.

My Grandparents had a car crash in France where seat belts were compulsory, but not in the UK. Had that accident happen in the UK they would have been killed, as they didn't wear seat belts.

I remember when this happened ,I was a big fan of Bucks Fizz.Hope he's doing well these days .
I had a pe teacher at school at the time and it was her husband who was the brain surgeon that operated on him.
