Total BS...the Falcons WERE exactly this BEFORE this SB. The national narrative is 100% opposite from ATL Falcons fans own understanding of their team. We've blown leads many many times going back to 1980 vs Cowboys Danny White and Drew Pearson to 49ers and Kaepernick's comeback vs Ryan in 2012 in the NCFCG. This was NOT a surprise to falcons fans.

As Pats fan that occurred on my birthday. Game was indicative of a Dickens nover. The worst of times (1st 3 qtrs) and best of times (4th qtr and OT) Falcons game plan was very pathetic in the 2nd half should've just ran the ball but were so aggressive playing not to lose. Freeman and Coleman were good rbs and Shanahan the OC at the time instead ran 9 run plays in the 2nd half!
Resiliency builds a champion. That's the main reason why the Patriots came back from that awful deficit. The Falcons, I believe not only made costly mistakes, but mentally stopped playing football after building that large lead.
Ill never forget watching this I remember sitting at half time saying the Pats were going to make a comeback.
As a Falcons fan, I at least got to celebrate for 3 and a Half Quarters as if we won the Super Bowl 😭😭😭

This game still haunts my soul as a Falcons fan. We were the underdogs who almost had an epic Super Bowl Victory only to have a Colossal Collapse.

Total BS...Vegas had the Falcons as six point underdogs in this game. The Pats won by six. Whay is this a spectacle? The national narrative is 100% opposite from Falcons fans own understanding of their team and their history. Falcons fans know better. Vegas knew better. We Atlanta sports fans have seen blown leads many many times in the most important games of the Falcons going back to 1980 vs Cowboys and Danny White to Drew Pearson to 49ers and Kaepernick's comeback vs Ryan in 2012 in the NFCCG. This was NOT a surprise to Falcons fans. That 2017 team was all offense and hold on for your lives defense throughout that season. They were 11-5 and could very well have been 7-9 or 8-8. The opponents' comebacks fell just short. And while the defense held on most of the time but we knew they were extremely shaky. Any pre-SB interview saw Falcons fans as cautiously optimistic, hoping aginst hope the Birds wouldn't blow it. The "no team has ever..." drivel by this narrator doesn't take into account the Pats/Brady were playing the Atlanta Falcons - a team with a history of blowing big leads in big games. You can look it up.
