Corn planting got started in mid March but rainy days have made for a slow start. Looks like more rain this week. Hopefully the following week will be sunny for lots of corn planting filming.
I don't run the planter, but we use an 8 row John Deere 1750 planter with liquid fertilizer and small 1 bushel boxes. The tractor we used to pull it last year was a John Deere 8120 with tinted windows on it but we don't know what tractor we're using yet. That tractor is currently being worked on at a John Deere dealer in Wichita, KS which is around 30 miles from Conway Springs, KS where our operation is located.
This tractor is equipped with GPS. This field was located in a large wooded area and signal was not reliable so they used the marker arm as a visual back up.
@@bigtractorpower ah yeah, I’ve been driven mad trying to find survey benchmarks that way specially when the trees are on a slightly higher piece of land than you even if you’re not close to them. I really like that planter’s transport position, I expecting the sides to fold in or forward but then it surprised me by rotating into an even more narrow position.
Very cool on the T8.330. The whine is the fans on the seed air delivery system. The 1200 and 1240 were pretty loud. By the time the 2140 came to market they turned the fans facing down and this greatly quieted down the planter.
It switches from field to transport modes quickly. The 1200 and 1240 do a good job planting but their fans for seed delivery but are loud. The current 2140 is much quieter.
Those are great looking tractors. I miss the days when NH/Ford had a large presence in my area. I thought the tractor's number represented the max HP it could produce on it's power bulge, but this appears not to be the case with this model. Plus, all these manu's greatly under rate their engines in HP as most produce as much actual tested PTO hp as what the engine is rated for at max or darn close to it.
New Holland numbers are basically based on max eng Hp but they round up in some cases to get an even number. The T9.700 is an example of the rounding up a bit as well.
@@rudexbruiser2604 most newer planters have only a cup or two worth of seed in a small hopper above the row unit/ seed meter. The fan you hear is constantly keeping the mini hoppers full as the planter is depositing seed in the ground.
It's a little big for the planter but we're in the southern hills of Indiana and it's nice to have some extra power. We used to used a Deutz 7085 mfwd to pull it .
I enjoy watching the farmer planting corn and using the markers. Since everyone use GPS now to plant
It is neat to get to see. The signal was weak in this area. Lots of trees so the markers were good back up.
And using the row markers, NICE
Row markers? Where?
The arm that folds out to draw the line in the soil. It is shown up close in the open clip of the video.
😁👍👍

Good to finally see someone no tilling in western Kentucky....
No till was invented in WKY. The first no till field ever planted was in Herndon, KY in 1962. Lots of no till in WKY to this day.
I love that Blue Power!
😁👍👍
Man I love New Holland tractors.
They are good tractors.
Such a nice setup. So glad to see planting season starting!!

I’m running a New Holland TS115a with a Kinze 3500 6/11. Works good in my smaller fields and narrow roads.
Very nice planting team.

The 1750 is a nice planter. I just added a 3D printed 1/64 1750 6 row to one of my farm displays.
.. love the marker arms.. !!!!
It was neat getting to see them used for more than just the boarders.
Awesome New Holland T8
The T8.330 is one of my favorite New Holland tractors.
Love these
Thank you for watching.
Enjoyed the video 👍. Regards from Down Under.
Thank you for watching.
Was that film made around bowling green Jason? I saw that exact tractor in Cadiz last year... Just wondering.
This tractor was running about 12 miles south of Cadiz. On the TN line.
@@bigtractorpower we spend a week in lbl every year.. I love it down there...
8370r pulling a 16 row jd 1775 electric drive planter for us. thanks for the video
Cool planting team. I have a video on BTP from last spring with a 8345R and 1775NT.
@@bigtractorpower yes I saw it good video. Keep them coming.
Hello everyone big tractor power good vidéo

Great vídeo Jason.

Great great work👍👍👍👉🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩

I wish it was that dry where we farm. It has been nothing but rainy days the past few weeks
We are in for a wet week here in WKY as well.
So since their using a marker arms does that mean no GPS progress trackers or steering?

Hey btp did you see the new autonomous jd tractor they are running in Europe that’s electric!
I have seen some pictures of it.
Spring field work is pretty nice to see😁👍

New Holland, T8 330 auto command with Kinze 3665 true rate.
Very nice blue seeding team.
Very nice video Jason. That field seems to be hidden down that back road. Probably be a challenge to get a combine in there? GO BTP 💪
It was a tight squeeze from the main road back to this field. All the trees made for a poor gps signal.
nice video, really enjoyed the planter switching to transport mode
It switches from field to transport modes quickly. The 1200 and 1240 do a good job planting but their fans for seed delivery but are loud. The current 2140 is much quieter.
Would like to see more Southeast Missouri, unique place.
I have a few videos here on the channel of cotton harvest in Cardwell, MO. I hope to get back that way to film.

No tracks and no articulation! Just how I like it!
Is it the tractor or the tool that's making that humming sound
The fans on the planter make that sound. It’s the air delivery system that takes the seed from the commodity tank to the row unit.
@@bigtractorpower how much seed

Those air planters are so loud

Allis Chalmers 7030 pulling a Great Plains Yield Pro 625A twin row 30" with liquid in furrow
