I love the raw simplicity of the studio. To me, it somehow resembles the characteristic of a grainy black and white photograph in that it invites you "in" in a way that perhaps the polish of the larger stage never quite does. I find the intimacy of the studio compelling - a kind of unrehearsed spontaneous combustion....a "box seat" on an exquisite art form....
Everybody talks about "her curves", but yet i realize she is very thin, so...that makes me think, her body might be one of the most beautiful in the world of dance. She has muscles, long arms, legs and neck, and yet, she has a feminine shape...i think that is what ballet should engourage, the respect for the human body, its shape and beauty, cause after all it is a tool for dancers, and i think she represents the beauty of a women's body.
Actually Polina is my inspiration to become a dancer, impossible i can be like her, but she is just the living image of beauty, grace, discipline, perfection and art, i admire her more than anyone else.
Malakhov always wears one of his own creations...they look like pyjamas and you can buy them in his ballet stores in Japan, but they are comfortable believe me..despite the looks :)
Ah Malakhov, ya gotta love his personal style. As one critic recently wrote about a particularly outrageous onstage getup of his, "let Malakhov be Malakhov."

@balletdevon Actually I think she wears Freeds. I know she endorses Bloch but I remember seeing a picture of her pointe shoes close up and Freed was clearly stamped onto the sole of the shoe (as well as her name written on the sole).
about the conversation about her breast, i think her body is really beautiful, because lets not forget that, after all, she is a women, and has a women body, my teacher has told me, that, yes, breast in ballet is not a common thing because of the amount of exersice, but having or not, what matters is the expresion of the body not its volume or shape, the structure does matter, but feeling is overall, the most important part of a dancer's body.
Omg, there are no other dancers who compare to Asylmuratova: exquisite feminine artistry, stunningly gorgeous face, perfect Vaganova technique, ability to project dramatically and connect with audiences - she was incredible. Her performance remains the definitive Nikiya.
those shoes are for keeping the feet warm, they use them in the video "simkin vs SIMKIN" i guess... they are not very pretty, but they seem usefull... i really dont worry about them because i juts cant take my eyes of that beautiful dancing ^^

@SophieNeveudancer Couldn't agree more, but she also is very lucky to have relatively big breasts, lots of women would have none left if they were that thin and well-trained. Still, it's what I like about her as well.
The filmmaker is clearly more interested in Vladimir than in Polina's dancing which is quite irritating (and insulting) as she is the whole point of this video!
