It would be so easy to feel jealous and look at you as some rich person that had money bestowed on them and now they have this great house with custom furniture, etc. But, we know you worked, scrimped and saved to get this home and paid for what you got in cash. That is incredible and incredible feat and I hope you enjoy your house for many years to come! I love the kitchen with all that space.
I know this is a two year old video but is the first time I’ve been able to watch it. Your home is absolutely beautiful thank you for sharing, it definitely has all the things I look forward to in my future dream home too. 🥰❤️ congratulations and thanks for all you do!
I love how you show us all the “done and dreamy” parts of your home, but not hiding the “reality” of the projects you are still actively working on to afford and complete. What an inspiration you are, helping so many of us as we tune into your journey and travel along our own! ❤️
where do you guys live? I don't know how anyone would be able to have enough cash to buy a house where I live... also I think we save on taxes when you buy it via a mortgage?
So amazing!! I can't wait to start seeing my hard work pay off with using the budgeting by paycheck method. Only just started 2 months ago and have my 1k emergency fund finished and some sinking funds set up! Love your house miko!
Good on you!! Instead of wasting your money on lots of little things you have "Told Your Money Where to Go" - saved it for this most beautiful home. I am proud of you as a fellow single Mom.
I feel like we never got to see the moment where you saved up enough money for your house! How was that done and how was it when you realized it happened?
I agree. I LOVE Miko. absolutely she's great.. BUT.. it is hard to relate to the save for my dream home option as she used mostly business income to pay her debt and buy this house. Many of us do not have that option, so it's hard to relate. While i love her system, it's just hard for me to understand and relate because i do not have business income to utilize to get to this point. But I'm happy for her.
@@debm3518 for sure!! I am too, I just wish I could’ve seen that moment where she was like omg I could do this even if it means taking a hit on the business or whatever happened and figuring out this is going to work! Watching all of her videos figuring it all out in front of us gave me hope. Watching the video where she showed her son the house had me in tears!
@Deb M Try not to think about in terms of business income. Income is income no matter how you earn it. Also remember she was working a full-time job while also building The Budget Mom business. She also doesnt do debt so most likely her "business" income went right back into her business versus into her pocket, especially in the beginning. Saving to buy your dream home in cash is a huge endeavor for most people. One of the key things that I have discovered on my financial journey is I have to change the way I think and how I operate. Not an easy task. Im not a business owner but I make a larger salary than Miko does and without debt bogging me down I could absolute save up for what I deem most important. A house was her "why" and her most important goal at the time. So being able to relate is all relative and as Miko says personal finance is exactly that....very personal. How you handle your goals and choices are totally different from her own. I use her methods, principles and guidelines to the best of my ability while still being true to my personal goals and methodology.
April T she doesn’t show the income in dividends that she pays herself. She only saved 400k for her home and the house cost more than that and that is not even all of the furnishings which she bought new everything. Including small appliances in the kitchen. She definitely lives on a much larger income than she shows in her budget. Not Realistic at all. She talks about working her budget for 9years but she payed it on in a year??? It doesn’t make sense.
@@debm3518 She only used some of her business income for this not all of it. She had already saved $400K in cash which is amazeballs!!! I think they said on the facebook group page that the total cost of the house was like $700K or $800K so she only used her business income to cover the extra so she wouldn't have to go into debt. But saving $400K in cash is mind boggling in itself but she did it and it is definitely #goals!
Congrats and your home is beautiful! I am wondering if you have a video dedicated to how you saved for your home specifically. If so can you send me the link so I can watch? Thanks for sharing, Blessings! I actually read your link below this video and it answered many of the questions in my mind-as it relates to buying a house with cash. Now I need to continue my business endeavors and re do my savings goals and debt payoffs mostly student loans. Like you, I divorced in almost end of 2017. Living in California alone has been a huge struggle so I spent most of this time on purely surviving on my own income. Although I went back to college and completed my MBA with a focus in Finance and Entrepreneurship, I never actually found my dream job on the government side. Sooo, I have other plans that I will pursue in my passion for personal finance to include my own personal financial freedom amongst other types of freedom! Again, TFS and thanks for following your heart and encouraging women with or without children that want to pursue their dreams after divorce!
Your home is wonderful and reflects you. Basement and landscape projects will happen with time. The saying goes like this “you are never done with your home until you move out”. So enjoy this moment in time, the future will take care of itself as you save for it.
Your home is beautiful. I lived in a huge home for 2 years and it was so hard to keep up with maintenance, but i miss the big kitchen for sure🙂. Now i live on a much smaller home but its mine🥰 and i am proud.
I’m thrilled to see that you realized your goals. I LOVE your dedicated mud room with its pull out drawers and customized shelving. Please make more videos on home organizations and decor!!!
Thank you for sharing. It is really inspiring to watch. When I started following you more than a year now, you were in you apartment and now in your dream home. Still tackling debt, but thank you to you I have learned a lot about finances and being patience with my baby steps. Such an inspiration.
Omg it's so easy to feel completely jealous about you and your house, but I remind myself that this is the hard work paying off. The room I envy most is your son's play/learning room. I dream of this for my son. I live in El Salvador, so a house like yours is next to non-existent, however there are some pretty houses, and all I keep thinking is how I want one that has a room for my son (currently he sleeps in the same room with us), and a play/learning area like this. You are an inspiration ❤️
SO SO SO proud of ALL your accomplishments Miko👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. You’re SUCH an inspiration to us🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Blessings always in your new home & I hope you & family get to enjoy your beautiful home for many many years to come👍🏽😃.
Thanks for allowing us to see inside your beautiful home. I am so happy for you and inspired by all of your accomplishments! I found your channel a few years ago and it changed my life, so please continue creating this amazing content!
When I am overwhelmed and see things that need to be done, I give it the 2 finger "eye to eye" sign and say, out loud, "I see you (unfinished closet, room that needs paint, bed that needs replaced...whatever it is) and I have plans for you! Oh yes I do!". I do this because you're right Miko...things take time. I'm so impressed at what's been done to date. And James is one lucky lad!
I got choked up thinking about your journey to where you are now. Hard work and dedication. Congratulations to you and your family. Definitely an inspiration to me to keep trying.

I've enjoyed watching your growth and success in the last couple of years, thx so much for sharing your journey with us. I'd love for you to help us with building a business. When I watch your videos and you are budgeting for things I don't ever see where your money to build your empire has come from? Could you take us through some of that budgeting, savings, and growth? Especially during these trying times, people need to know how to grow their own businesses to be self sufficient. Thank you so much for all you do!! 💜 Diana
