@@MrGemHunter I think Electrochemistry is more responsible for managing what Harry wants in most cases. @@samcook4207 lenval brown has a different cadence for each skill its very subtle and you might not even notice it unless you listen side by side but i think its great
The only disappointment that I have with Final cut version of the game is that all of the voices for skills were done by the same person, which is sad, as this video perfectly shows that skills by themselves are rather unique. Thanks for doing this! The electrochemistry voice was the best reading of "boy" I heard in english language.
one voice actor is fine though i wish he'd play more with his voice to match the "personalities', anyway, it's still really great that they voiced them all.
I mean, it makes sense in the narrative sense to have one voice actor. To my knowledge there’s no allusions to Harry having schizophrenia where it would make sense to have multiple different voices talking to you.
@@Loofty777 You can literally talk to your tie. Who has its own unique voice. Also the Ancient Reptilian Brain and the Limbic System have unique voices despite them just being Harry talking to himself.
@@juliagoetia You make some good points. Harry does talk to his tie, but only when you invest enough points into Inland Empire, which basically translates to gameplay as imagination. Perhaps the Limbic System represents the feminine, emotional, side of Harry while the ARB is biological, hardwired over years of evolution with the goal of survival.
I would pay ungodly amounts of money to get your skill voices into the game. It's absolutely perfect. This is almost exactly what I had imagined the skills would sound like. Major props to you!

"No, this is somewhere to be. This is all you have, but it's still something. Streets and sodium lights. The sky, the world. You're *still* alive." God that reading broke my heart.
I'm honestly surprised I can't find anyone else's take on this. I stopped playing only a little bit through the game so I could wait for the Final Cut version to drop so I could experience the game in all its glory (and to avoid burnout), and I'm very much hoping that the skills are all voiced. And if they're as good as this, it's going to be a magical experience.
I used REAPER to record and Audacity to edit it all together! Shivers' voice is a riff on a Warcraft Lich King effect (as demonstrated here ua-cam.com/video/ythJI6Bq88Q/v-deo.html) and Inland is just me putting together two separate recordings where you pan one of them through the left speaker, and the other through the right.
Ever since I heard the voices for Ancient Reptilian Brain, etc, in the intro, I've been wondering what the other internal voices sounded like. This is fantastic, great job! I'm hoping you continue this and do Esprit du Corps, Savoie Faire, Physical Instrument, etc
I think we should keep our expectations proportional to the reality, the budget required to have each skill voiced completely different and time would be insane. I love this version but I am definitely not dissatisfied with the Final cut. It's still fully voiced and that on it's own is incredible.
I feel like just with their writing style and opportunities offered, the skills are unique enough. The same voice actor performing all of them seems a little boring, but it makes sense seeing as every one of them is part of Harry, and (unless in situations where they do get individual voices e.g: shivers) Harry probably isn't bothered enough to actually give them a unique voice, as they are constructs of his mind, their advice alone is enough for him, and your thoughts are generally monotone and unpronounceable, just as the actor makes them all.
Oh man....this is what we should have gotten...the inner voices are too much the same. Shivers is supposed to be sad. Final Cut voices are....odd. The narrator is phenomenal don't get me wrong, he was made to VA. But it the fact that the voices don't have their own tone is...):
They all do have their own tone, granted. Credit to the Narrator again, you can hear the distinctions between the four attributes overtime, all carrying their own cadence and energy. the actual VA was interviewed on this, and essentially the voices have the same tone to demonstrate that they are not _characters_ with _personalities_ , but rather processes of one character who percieves the world through a set group of lenses & filters. they're the same tone because it is, both in a figurative and literal sense, the same person reading the same lines, but with different tonal language that indicates they're not all the same. they do have their own personalities in the end because they're, well, personified, but they're very subtle in comparison to if harry was written like a system or someone with imaginary friends . :0

I agree with everyone in the fact that the skills should have different voices but I think we fail to realize in a way it’s Harry’s brain and that’s just how his thoughts sound.
Gotta say, while I think the narrator for The Final Cut of Disco Elysium does a great job, I would of loved to hear more distinct skill voices. You really nailed what I think would of gone great in the game. Can't help but wonder what your take on some of the other skills'd be.
